We love La Dona. Where did they go? Temporary or permanent closure?! Please come back!

Food was excellent and presented beautifully! I would recommend getting your food To Go in the summer though. There’s no air conditioning so eating in was kinda uncomfortable, and when we were there it had a mothbally-smell, likely due to the age of the building. Will definitely go back though!

We stopped at La Doña Cocina for a late dinner while driving from FL to MA, and I’m so glad we did. We were the only ones there but the place still had such a fun, lively vibe. The staff made us feel like family — honestly felt like we were eating dinner at their house. The homemade salsas were incredible and everything we ate was delicious. They even gave us a small bowl of pozole just to try! There was a bit of a funky smell (like a bathroom), but I saw they’re temporarily closed now so maybe they’re fixing that. I’d still totally go back — the food and people were amazing.

Not sure how this place gets a 4.8 star rating. Flavorless salsa, stale cold chips, mediocre tacos, and runny sour cream. For one person, $22. You gotta be kidding me.

It might take some time to get your food on your table but most dishes are made from scratch.
The staff are very nice. Parking lot is small.

Great food with delicious flavor! We had enchiladas de mole, enchiladas Rojas, picaditas de pollo, aguas frescas, the elotitos and Tres leches cake oh and the rice and beans! The rice was delicious reminded me of home! Will return with the rest of my family! Customer service was also beyond! Thank you!

Super small and homie vibes, but all handmade home-cooked food. The salsas revolve daily and were incredibly flavorful. The corn tortillas were handmade and delicious. Incredible food. The service was attentive and helpful.

A hidden gem! The best Mexican food I’ve had in Richmond, hands down. Tamales and enchiladas suizas were excellent. Service was super friendly. Authentic, friendly, affordable, and delicious. Don’t miss out!!!
