It was a nice weekend and wasn’t crowded during the time I went. We sat near the door, the first booth we hardly had space, table was too wide and seats are were uncomfortable. Food was decent and our waitress was nice.
The one star is for the gracious server. The food is absolutely terrible. We ordered the gator bites, they were well cooked and presented well. The accompanied sauce paired well with the bites but they were so unseasoned! Not even salt! Then we tried the taste of new orleans...the gumbo was watery and flavorless, only the taste of burnt roux...the jambalaya was basically stewed tomatoes over white rice...and the red beans and rice tasted like the can was opened shortly before being served. That's it. No sausage...no chicken...no shrimp...no nothing. The gumbo did have a little protein on top, but I didn't even make it far enough into the bowl to try it. We sent everything back. As someone who's visited NOLA a few times, I am sorely disappointed at their feble attempt.
As a true Cajun boy I needed some flavor to tide me over ....this was recommended and I was very pleased with the offering. The gumbo is a very dark roux and I enjoyed it. The red beans and rice were great but missing some sweet cornbread to go with it. And the jambalaya is a unique take....for true Cajuns I found their version to be more like a Sauce picante....and it was my favorite of the three things I ate. The star of the show in this place is the staff in particular the bartenders who not only were great at servicing the bar but also helped the newcomer (me) with a list of local places to try out regarding local fare and food. This gesture along with the food and ambience will certainly have this old Cajun boy coming back for more and bring in others
I was at your establishment yesterday and the only thing good was my drink!!! The rice in the jambalaya was under cooked and the replacement Cajun catfish that I got to go was so small that my baby granddaughter would still be hungry. The Mac and cheese was atrocious and the collard greens were incredibly salty. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED ☹️☹️☹️THE WORST PART IS, WHEN I GOT HOME AND SAW MY FOOD, I CALLED AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR A CALL BACK!!!!
I don’t typically rate restaurants and certainly don’t give negative reviews unless warranted, but this is warranted. We waited about 20 minutes to get a drink and then another hour and a half for our food to come out. I told the waitress after about an hour and 15 minutes of waiting that we’d just close out with the drinks to which she said, “Our kitchen is small and we’re busy.” That’s it. No apology, all excuses, and very poor excuses at that. I get that this place is probably understaffed but the kitchen has been the same exact size since they opened years ago AND it didn’t seem particularly busy. I could have dealt with the wait. I’m sympathetic to that, but the excuses and completely unapologetic attitude from the waitress really upset me. To top that off, the staff is constantly going outside to take {smoke} breaks - all while everyone inside is waiting an hour and a half plus for their food! The food was cold and dry. This was probably the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. I write this review to warn others…save your time and frustration and go somewhere else!
I see others sharing their experiences, so I thought I’d share mine! With the way some other reviews looked, I was a little apprehensive. But, as far as my personal experience, I was very pleasantly surprised :) service was prompt and friendly, and the food was incredible. The gumbo is especially delicious and their oyster shooters are very tasty. Will definitely be back!
Went there with the anticipation of good authentic Louisiana. The food was the worst. I ordered a lemonade for my drink and it tasted like seltzer water with a lemon in it. I ordered shrimp, Mac n cheese and collards and a cup of gumbo. The gumbo was not good, the color didn’t even look right. My meal was $20 and I only received 5 shrimp! The mac and cheese was disgusting. Collards were okay and shrimp was very spicy, hence the Cajun. Our waiter was good even with her handling ALL of the tables in the restaurant. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Especially if you’re looking for authentic food.
We have driven by Lady N’awlins for years and finally decided to try it. The building and ambiance is very cool, situated a few feet below sidewalk level. The staff was very friendly, the menu was good, and the waiter told us about a lot of interesting events that they host. However, our food took just over an hour to come out after ordering it (it was late on a Sunday night and didn’t seem particularly busy). The waiter was very apologetic but unfortunately this is what we will remember about our visit and probably wouldn’t recommend to a friend based on this experience.
We came here for brunch it’s no one’s fault they’re understaffed , but let ppl know you’ll be here for 90 min waiting for your food. It sucks cause we really wanted to eat here. We will be back though.
So sad to be sharing this experience because I was really looking forward to eating at this place! The service was terrible (I know everyone is having a rough time but we weren't even acknowledged after being seated for 30 mins). The table was dirty and then was given a single very quick and haphazard swipe when we asked about it, and it was still visibly very dirty.....When we finally got our food, the biscuits were VERY stale and the chicken was overcooked. We spent an hour and a half in total there, because we then waited 25 mins for the check after asking for it. (And it wasnt very busy when we got there)Pretty bummed and prob won't go back :(

If I could give 0 stars I would ,not authentic at all and all the food was very salty and overcooked. The service sucked. The owner really needs to rethink this concept maybe get a real chef or something. You can’t have a place like this and send our below subpar food. This place is to pricy for it’s lackluster. It was mine and my wife’s first time she been wanting to go here she is from Louisiana and she felt disrespected at this place we will never eat here again.
The service was good (unfortunately they were severely understaffed-servers & staff.) The beignets were amazing, but they ran out ?. The food was ok, but not the freshest. The bread for my po boy fell apart, but the shrimp was really good.I think it was just a bad day and I'll give them another try in the future.
This was the first time eating here and the food was Excellent. Very tasteful and gives the southern tastes you don’t get from around here lol Definitely refer for brunch or dinner!!
For service they receive 3 stars but wasn’t impressed on food and flavor. Got the Black ‘n’ Boom chicken and it was more black than anything because one side on both pieces were completely charred. Only highlights were the crab & craw dip and boom boom shrimp. I may give them a second chance but it’s not likely. Atmosphere was good however.
The food was a AWFUL, we decided to try the Gumbo, Mac-n-Cheese, Cajun Fried Chicken, Gator Bites, Fried Brussel Sprouts and Cesar Salad. The Gator Bites were chewy BUT had flavor and everything else was VERY BLAND!!! There was no Cajun Seasoning on the chicken. The best thing was the Fried Brussels Sprouts, and dry Cesar salad. It was a waste of $ for sure! It was clear this was just an idea and not AUTHENTIC! I wish I would have read the reviews before trying this restaurant. My boyfriend was so disappointed!!!
