First time stopping by...had a Kenya coffee- black...very, very good cup of coffee!! Ended up going back inside and buying a bag of it because it was so, so good! I was wired after 4-5 sips!!!

This place has been on my bucket list of places to try for what feels like forever. I'm happy to report it was worth the wait. Lamplighter is busy street corner with a tiny little parking lot in front. They have a separate entrance for you to place your order. When you place your order they ask for your name no additional order number is given. This proved to be a little confusing as there were two Jason's at the same time and they received the wrong drink. I ordered an iced lavender latte, breakfast burrito and a sweet potato muffin. Everything was really good. The breakfast burrito tasted homemade and was accompanied by a fresh salsa that was great. I will flag that this cafe is Vegan friendly as they have several vegan/ vegetarian options on the menu. Overall I really enjoyed my coffee and food and look forward to trying this place out in the future!

Great little coffee shop near VCU.Juniper latte was delish and the vegan burrito , flavourful.Would give them another try, hands-down.

I didn't order any food so I cannot comment on that aspect. My usual coffee spot was already closed so I popped into Lamplighter. Ordered a latte, it was good, basic. The service was neither overtly rude nor pleasant, best word to describe it was obligatory. The service provided to the couple before us was quite the opposite, the service they received was very pleasant. The large man at the register offered no greeting and simply took our order. There was a moderately long wait for a single latte. The inside is quite small and cramped, although there is an outdoor seating area that seams as though it would be pleasant in warmer weather. Overall, Lamplighter was generally unwelcoming, cramped, slow, and provided a decent enough cup coffee.
waited 35 minutes for one cup of coffee. when I went back to ask where it was, the guy at the cash register told me he forgot the order and was extremely rude. Had to wait an additional 10 minutes for them to make it and it tasted disgusting. would give zero stars if possible.
