Excellent in every way.....had cauliflower and spring rolls to start...superb....entrees where smothered pork chop and crispy skin salmon...also superb. Cocktails, excellent as well. Service also excellent. My experience was a rare 10/10

My wife and I made reservations here to meet our daughter after her late afternoon lecture at VCU. We are local and Glen Allen Wyndham so eating here made perfect sense. Reviews are pretty good so why not? Upon walking in the establishment there was a foul odor of fish which should have caused me to just turn around and go somewhere else however everyone is famished so we stuck with it. After reviewing our reservation and we were seated, our server came over and once she found out we were not ordering alcoholic drinks it seemed to be a mood change. We ordered the chicken the shrimp and grits and the salmon. The salmon plate was phenomenal but the shrimp and grits came out cold and the chicken oh my gosh.... The chicken look like it had been left in the fryer for over 5 minutes to 10 minutes longer than it should have. The chicken was dry and way overcooked. Possibly cook today prior and maybe warmed up again dunked in oil or just plain way overdone either way it never should have left the kitchen. The shrimp and grits probably would have been good but they were just so cold they were gross, cold and the oils and butter in it started to solidify. When we brought this to the service attention she was argumentative and dismissive and quite frankly after this interaction where she assured me the fried chicken was made today that was the last time we really spoke to her. From here out the manager Mary got involved but not right away it took her some time to come over. Meanwhile I finish my salmon dish and again it was great however my two ladies daughter and wife are sitting there with awful dishes. Mary took the two dishes off the bill which was fine but it took some time to get there and our server never came back to check on us or do anything by the time Mary came over and offered to replace the dishes it was way too late.. We were deep into the dinner and to wait further for another refire would be too much. If that solution was offered much sooner it would have been an amenable path but came way too late. Furthermore the servers lack of engagement and overall attitude was just awful. We didn't come in there to be treated that way and then at the end she didn't even say anything about the manager or just slap the bill down. Just plain rude.

My wife and I went with a family member who came into town to visit. We didn't have a reservation (which I think is highly recommended) but we were able to sit at the bar. The service there was pretty good. In spite of a limited menu we ended up getting the Short Rib Egg rolls and the Fried Brussel Sprouts (both are their favorites) for starters. For my main entree I had the Shrimp and grits, which I was definitely a fan of. Overall I really enjoyed the atmosphere and aesthetic of the restaurant. I just recommend getting reservations

Great food, fast service and nice building in a good location. We ate too quickly but recommend the tossed salad and spicy Nashville chicken sandwich!! Will not disappoint!
We ordered the buratta and beat salad, chicken wings, crispy skin salmon, and the short ribs. Everything was absolutely delicious! This was a super relaxed setting, and our server, Naji, was excellent. Would highly recommend for date or dinner with the family.
