What a delightfully quirky, fun 80s vibe restaurant! The names of some of the menu items are hilarious. They were very attentive and accommodating with regards to my treenut allergies and I was still able to enjoy several menu items. Get the Bundt Pirate dessert if it's on the menu. It exceeded our expectations!!! Can't wait to go back the next time we're in Richmond

AMAZING!! Thank you so much for a spectacular dining experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
We sat at the bar with server and bartender, Austin. He made our entire experience truly outstanding. Beautiful restaurant with beautiful people working there. Everyone was courteous, kind and friendly. The food was exceptional, especially the chestnut bisque, I would come in for by itself. I ordered the catch of the day, which came with mussels. After a past experience with having a bad mussel at another restaurant, I was both leery and reluctant to try them. The beautiful server with dark hair and glasses reassured me, they were fresh and I would not have any problems. She was correct, the dish with rockfish was outstanding. Now, back to Austin. He was such a great guy, funny, engaging, and absolutely everything. I highly recommend L’Opossum and make your reservation for the bar. You’ll have an opportunity to interact with the entire staff at some point. They all will take very good care of you. Bon Appetit!

We sat at the bar as we often do. Jonathon. Our bartender had a remarkable knowledge of the food and its preparation. Nice guy, chill. The music, and I never mention that in my reviews, gently grabs your attention if you want. The warm winter salad was the star amongst the venison carpaccio, ahi tuna, and steak tartare. Just go.
Another great experience at L'Opossum. We're never disappointed here and there's always something new to try. The starters, yellowfin crudo and a root vegetable soup, were both fantastic. Our mains, lamb belly roulade and daikon "scallop" pho were both good. Our server was attentive and explained everything, he was very engaging.
The atmosphere is just as amazing as the food. The staff is amazing. The mocktails are true mocktails (and that is always nice because as a non drinker I do enjoy some thing more than just juice).

Best meal I've had in a long time. Great ambiance and authentic vibes. Delicious food and wine.
Always a pleasure. Staff is always on point, just like ghosts that take a plate and deliver a new one.
Nice establishment. The ambiance was engaging, and reading further about the owner's vision afterward added helpful context to the overall experience. While the menu was enjoyable, the dishes did not reflect traditional French cuisine, so I am hesitant to classify L'Opposum as a truly French restaurant. Guests should anticipate spending close to $700 for a party of four, including tip. At this price point, the single serving of bread rather than a shared table basket felt somewhat lacking in refinement. However, the pacing of service was excellent—drinks, appetizers, and entrées were delivered with precision—and the food, overall, was quite good.
Everything is finally crafted in a perfectly balanced eclectic mannor, from the food, cocktails, and even the decor. It is a great cozy intimate location meant for special occasions.

Our server, Susan W, was simply out-of-this-world amazing! Her knowledge of the menu, her perfect service and friendliness were at least 10 out of 10. First time there, went with a friend who knew the place, and it did not disappoint. From the comfortable vibe to creative, perfectly-created and presented dishes, L'Opossum was an experience to remember. Yes, the prices may seem a bit high if you are only looking at the 2-dimensional menu online, but not one millisecond of regret in choosing this gem in Richmond. It has a fourth dimension that cannot be described. You will love it, trust me!
