Small space, very busy, but great people, great food. Most days plan to wait if going during peak times. They are really, never, not busy. The food never disappoints though. They have a variety of dessert options, though, I really don't indulge, everyone that I know that eats their desserts says they are incredible! Definitely recommend! Whenever I'm in town, I eat here.

Amy gave us a run down of the establishment and detailed the origins and what’s next to come.

Key and Nique were really personable and made us feel at home - there slogan is “Welcome To Our Home”.

The drinks were pricy but the bartender, Key, has a heavy hand if you’re picking up what I’m putting down.

Definitely recommend the Mac&Cheese, Potato Salad, and fried chicken. Everything with a star is the truth.

Mira came and said hello and helped me get utensils

Mama Js soul food eatery was an immaculate experience. My brother and I came from DC. I ate the fried chicken with Mac and Cheese and Cabbage. The Mac and cheese is exactly what you would expect Thanks giving to taste like.

Conversely, the drinks were high priced. A 12 dollar margherita in a shot glass in this market is highway robbery. Markey did not make the prices but she made the drinks. That’s a different story.

However, the service from Markey was A1!

Omg - it was as good as everyone says. Unfortunate that it took us this long to get there & will be back for certain. Had the catfish bites to start and then the pork chops. Others had the catfish sandwich - everyone was extremely happy with how good the food was. Tuesday night - so not busy. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Full bar service & the drinks looked amazing - next time will try those.

The food here is mediocre at best. I ordered baked chicken, candied yams cabbage and potato salad. The chicken was flavorless , the was okay but the candied yams were not candied at all. Out of everything I order the potato salad was the best thing on the plate.

We drove two hours to try this place and this is not what we consider good food. I wish we would’ve went to Croaker Spot instead. The staff is welcoming and friendly but the food was horrible. Both myself and my friend were disappointed but because we were just trying it out (we even told the waitress that we will be leaving a review) we didn’t complain. Maybe if you are diabetic or have high blood pressure and cannot eat certain seasonings, you would possibly enjoy this place. For those who like their food seasoned…….this is not where you want to spend your bucks. My meal came out to $44 and some change and it was not worth the cost. I tried the brisket 😒 collards 🤢, cabbage 😕 and seafood salad 👍 Everything was warm, nothing hot. Their cornbread would be good if they serve it hot. My friend’s baked chicken is also pictured and it did not look appeasing and the taste was worse. She only liked the potato salad.
