Had the butternut Squash and apple bisque nd the Halibut. The bisque was good but the bowl had a crack in it. The halibut was too salty for me but edible. The veggies were a little soggy. Had 2 old fashions. They were average. Not sure I’d bother going again for the price.

Had a great time at The Lobby Bar in Richmond! The atmosphere was stylish and we LOVED all the pink! Perfect for a night out or a casual drink. The cocktail menu was creative and well-executed, and the service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a spot I’d return to and recommend to others looking for a quality bar experience in the city.

Valentine’s prix fixe menu was small and incredibly expensive for the quality of food that was offered. Our meals were not just flavorless, but also served cold. Server was nice enough but food took forever to come out. Drinks are good but given the overall experience I would not return.

I’ve come on three separate occasions trying to attend their pop up bar they advertise online. Every time I’ve come they’ve closed it for private events without posting it online and/or don’t include it anywhere when making a reservation. After the second time I came with it being closed I asked when It would be open next to be told this past Saturday it was closed yet again for private events. It’s Really frustrating… I think the concept of the pop up bar would be great if they actually adhered to the times they advertise when it’s open online. Or offered the speciality drinks at the normal bar. I usually really like this restaurant overall and am disappointed to have to leave this review.
This lobby has a unique, PINK and upscale feel. Though it looks super fancy, the staff is so friendly and the prices are more reasonable than expected. The hostess was very considerate of my four year old enjoying her time which added so much to our experience.

Food: 2.5 out of 5 Service: 1 out of 5 Atmosphere: 4 out of 5 Our group of 7 made a reservation for a going-away dinner for a friend. We went on a Monday evening with a 6:30 reservation. It was an average-sized crowd with a few empty tables, so not fully booked by any means. The hotel set-up is beautiful this time of year and the table we had was in a perfect spot in the restaurant. The decor and ambience of the lobby bar was exactly what we were looking for, but that is unfortunately where the positives end. Upon arrival, we ordered a bottle of wine and a few cocktails. Our waiter, Allyn, did not provide any pleasantries or give off a friendly vibe, but that would've been fine if his service had at least been good. We were not asked if we wanted any starters, and it took almost 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. In reviewing the menu, we noticed there were only 6 entree options, but we each managed to find something that interested us. Four of us added steak to our dishes but were told the chef would only cook it medium rare and nothing else. This was acceptable for 3 out of the 4 of us, so one person had to forego the steak option. Another ordered the fresh catch (salmon) which came with a raisin and almond enhancement that she could not eat, and requested to substitute with carrots that were present in a different dish. Again, we were told the chef would not do that. All of these rejections were presented in a very standoffish manner by Allyn, who seemed less than interested in any accommodations for the meal. After ordering our dinner, he returned 10 minutes later to tell us there were only two steaks left, so one of the 3 of us would not be getting what we ordered. He offered to add salmon instead, to which one of the ladies agreed. He did not return for any more drink orders or refills. When the food finally arrived by the servers, it took Allyn another several minutes to check on us and at that point took our additional drink orders. He again returned several minutes later to tell us they did not have any more of the wine bottle we had ordered. This particular wine is on the menu for "drinks by the glass" so to be completely out of it was surprising. At this point, everyone had finished their meal so we opted not to get another bottle of wine. As for the food, we had orders for the cacio e pepe, which had no flavor except for an overabundance of garlic; the salmon which was very overcooked with a black crust rather than golden brown and very dry; and a few salads which were average. When the bill arrived, we noticed that the second bottle of wine was still listed, but Allyn again did not return for several minutes for this to be remedied. One person in our group stopped another server and asked to speak with the manager. When she arrived at the table, her only response was "Allyn is one of our best servers". If that is true, then the rest of the staff must be poorly lacking in any customer relation skills and quality work ethic. Eventually the manager said she could take down our email addresses and send us a gift card, but we all agreed we would not return. Instead, she offered to adjust the bill, and removed one of the pasta dishes and the sides of the steak. This was acceptable to us because we will not be going back. As a side note, the valet situation was also a mess. Do not expect to be treated as nicely as the restaurant presents itself to be.

Update from my previous post: We live in Jackson Ward now so I met my financial advisor for drinks and appetizers.
Specialty drinks are delightful though you will pay for them, no happy hour discount. Apps were not good. Spanakopita dip was nothing more than heated frozen spinach, with small bits of a nondescript cheese. And the chicken was crazy. We expected meaty drumsticks but received large boney chicken legs which were nearly impossible to eat over cocktails.
As a positive note, the lobby is a beautiful setting and we had a delightful waitress.
For future reference, I brought the wine list home to my knowledgeable husband for possible dinners. Sadly there still were no good reds under $100. In addition, we cannot count on good food.
So we will continue to stick with other local favorites, such as Chez Foushee where we have reservations tomorrow night.

Food was disappointing to say the least. Minimal seasoning. Small portions. Showy and fancy menu but doesn’t live up to it. Left hungry after paying $95 without drinks for two small plain entrees and two iced teas. Really not ok

Lobby Bar is great, just remember that it is not the cheapest drink in Town but it will always be a good one.

I recently visited this bar, and while the place itself is quite nice, I had a disappointing experience with one of the bartenders. Despite repeatedly asking for a cup of water throughout my visit, my requests were ignored. It's important to note that the bartender's nail polish was not the issue; rather, it was his inattentive and dismissive service that left a negative impression. His lack of responsiveness overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable evening. The establishment is great, but the service from this particular bartender needs significant improvement.
