Food was really good, concept is amazing. Love everything about how the place was thoughtfully laid out. Service was a bit slow. Food and drinks were great. Sadly found out they'd be closing in a few weeks so I left heartbroken but full and very well taken care of.

This was my first visit. I almost left after waiting 15 minutes and no one came over to my table. Finally, a server noticed me. She was very apologetic and quickly took my order even though I was not in her area. The server for my area ignored me while serving a table right next to me. Fortunately all was not lost. The waffles were perfect, light and fluffy. The chicken was nicely seasoned and cooked well. My only complaint was the coffee which was not good at all. My real concern is a tip was added to my bill by them not allowing me the choice to leave what I wanted. The server explained this as their policy so people would not double tip. I think this practice is unfair to the restaurant goers. I want to decide how much if any tip I leave. I wanted to like this black run establishment. The food is good but the long wait for recognition and service plus the automatic tip gives me pause.

I try to support Black owned but this time it bit me in the rear. Cold and flavorless food. Add with that a 50 minute wait for a BLT and no mayo provided. And a 18 percent automatic gratuity. Run don’t walk past.

Bill was $44 for two tiny glasses of OJ and two horrific blt's. The cheapest store bought bread from food lion, freezing cold fatty thin bacon even though I asked before ordering if the bacon was thick, one tiny slice of lettuce and one tiny slice of tomato. No mayo, had to ask and they brought PACKETS, packets!Big bland blocks of undercooked cut potato slice chunk things...how do you mess up potatos!?I simply could have done that waaaaay better at home! In fact, they have signs all over the walls saying just that...printed on a printer "If you think it's better at home, well (hmmmm emoticon). That says right there that they know they are fleecing people.Just the worst and costliest worst so called brunch I've ever had.Waited an hour for that monstrosity and the waitress had the nerve to strongly point out that we can tip more than the 18% already tacked on.

I ordered through door dash and the chicken was horrible. It had little to no seasoning on it and it was so dry that you could barely swallow it. I threw it away. I ordered a side of eggs w/ cheese and they were cold and lacked cheese. The potatoes were just ok. When my co-worked called to give her feedback about the food, the lady who answered the phone was rude and showed no interest in knowing that they provided bad food.

Friendly service and sweet atmosphere completely overshadowed by the fantastic food. I would eat that chicken and waffles in a dungeon under threat of violence if necessary. Best waffle of my life! Will return often.

The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was good but I would have preferred more seasoning on the chicken.

It's comically bad. Terrible quality food for a high price. You're better off getting a microwavable breakfast sandwhich from the 7 11 across the street. My party is now worried we'll be sick. It was very bad.

Nice clean place in downtown Richmond. Food excellent. Large southern soul menu. Service can be leisurely sometimes, but overall, highly recommended.

I only ordered a side of home fries along with another co-worker. They were hard and had no taste at all, and they both orders in one container. I ordered a cup of coffee as well; it was cold and burnt. My co-worker ordered some fried chicken and asked for it to be cooked well done (since the last time she ordered it was pink on the inside). Very rude and would not give a refunded. I will not be ordering from here again.

The food was delicious, but the service was lackluster… We were told to seat ourselves and then were completely ignored. We understood they were short staffed but the server there completely ignored us, never said “be right with you” or offered us anything to drink. She told other tables she was the only one there for the morning. We waited.. and waited.. and waited.. until another server came in and she did her best to get to us. We watched other tables be greeted and served first, even though they sat down long after us. Once the server who was called in got to us, she was very sweet, but her coworker shouldn’t have left us hanging like that. We weren’t asking for full service, but just some acknowledgment. We were 2 seconds from walking out the door (we weren’t the only ones, we watched another table leave because they never even got menus). Luckily the food was AMAZING because the wait was very frustrating.

The outside of the place looks a little sketchy but it's cute inside. There are a lot of printed out signs about gratuity (letting us know how much they make), how guests should compose themselves ("we don't do ratchet", "we don't do bourgeois"), and many signs about their "refund policy". The art work is original....and so are those printed out signs...Alcoholic drinks were served in a tall glass cup and a regular straw. But it was good. My fiancé ordered "black magic woman". It tasted like a mule with tequila.Everything on the menu had a jazzy name so I can't remember them BUT we ordered the chicken and waffles and a croissant sandwich with 2 sides, home fries and fruit cup. The food hot and fresh. My only complaint were the home fries. My server specially asked if I wanted onions, I said yes. There were like 5 pieces of chopped onions mixed in, and they weren't cooked long enough.Overall the staff were nice and my fiancé and I enjoyed our food.

Ate here kind of as a second choice but I'm not mad about it. They have breakfast all day. I got an egg sandwich on a croissant with a side of home fries. Everything tasted freshly made, even the croissant (not sure if it was but it was good). The home fries were hand cut and delicious. The outside of the restaurant looks a little off but once you walk in it has a good feel. (If I could find parking) I would definitely come back. My cousin got the French fries which were very thick and not too crispy, I would recommend the home fries over the French fries, although they have a weird rule about only breakfast sides going with breakfast. So I'd say that should be changed.
