Went for my daughter’s 4th birthday on 9/10/24. I have gone to multiple Mexico restaurant locations including Ashland, Sandston, and Mechanicsville and this location is the only one that does not sing happy birthday/feliz cumpleaños when they bring out the fried ice cream. They also got our beer order wrong, when we asked for Bud Light Lime listed ON THE MENU, they gave us Miller Light with a lime and said they did not have Bud Light Lime. They did not refill our chips or ask us if we wanted more chips. The salsa was watery as well as they got my daughter’s meal wrong. Worst Mexico Restaurant experience in all of the Richmond area! Sandston would never.

Had a good lunch here. Pretty standard for a Mexican American restaurant. Prompt service, welcoming environment, and very large menu with lots of lunch options from $10-12. Tortilla chips were warm and salsa seemed fresh. Had a chicken chimichanga and fajitas. Was good food and portions. Really nothing negative to say — again just what I’d expect from a regular Mexican restaurant in America, nothing really blew us away.

Man at host counter looked as if he hated his job. Never greeted me. Still I greeted him asked if I could place an order. He seemed irritated with me simply wanting to place order. Then asked him about the chimichangas he’s was irritated that I only wanted veggies no meat. Just overall seemed like an unhappy person from the moment I walked in. I hope this man finds happiness and his true calling in life. However, as far as ordering any food from here I would never spend my money where it’s not appreciated. Place was empty on a Friday evening should have taken that as a red flag. Vegetarians/Vegans don’t bother.

The meat on all the dishes were dry and flavorless. Even the salsa was bland. However the place was packed and seems popular.
The waiter seemed like he didn't want to be there and didn't smile once.
I prefer other authentic Mexican restaurants nearby.
Mexico is one of our favorite places dine as a family. The menu has something for everyone, and it's all AMAZING!!

Food would’ve been great if they gave me a decent amount of cheese. They gave me the smallest cheese cup possible for a huge choripollo plate. They were trying to charge me $4.99 for a side of cheese like wow. I understand it’s a charge but $5 is crazy. The forest hill location didnt charge me for a little extra cheese.
Update on what my plate looks like when I poured the cheese. Not even a decent amount.
