Water given was obviously from dirty filter, and tasted dusty/gross, when mentioned to waitress she offered bottled water. Agreed as water was disgusting. She and manager refused to not charge for water, mind-bogglingly bad customer service
Food bland/tasteless overall as well.
Will not return.

One of our favorite restaurants in Richmond. It’s been a go-to favorite for years. I love their salsa more than any other restaurant salsa but it can be extra spicy at times. I love the fajita quesadilla and the California burrito as well as the tacos and taco salad. The queso and guacamole are always good too. This location has a huge patio in the back with water features which is really nice.

Ive ordered from this restaurant multiple times, and have had the same experience every time. The service is great, the food is terrible unfortunately. The white sauce smells and tastes sour. The salsa is less than mediocre. And their chimichungas, a $15 meal, is the size of toquitos. After one bite i immediately had thoughts of trashing it and going to get my dinner somewhere else

I had a great experience at Mexico Restaurant on Forest Hill Avenue! When I walked in I was greeted with friendly smiles and welcoming service. The food was delicious and everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The chips and salsa came out fast and were the perfect start to the meal. The portions were generous and definitely worth the price. The shrimp and cheese dip was on point, and every bite was full of authentic Mexican flavor. What really stood out was the consistency every dish at the table was made just right. Whether it was the enchiladas, tacos, or the chimichangas, each plate looked amazing and tasted even better. If you're looking for great Mexican food in Richmond with fast service, a clean atmosphere, and a comfortable vibe, Mexico Restaurant on Forest Hill is definitely the spot. I’ll be back again soon!

We ate at the Mechanicsville location on our way home from out of state. I always order a chimichanga every time I have Mexican, which is often. I ordered one today with ground beef. When it was brought out to me it looked like a taquito ( a 1/3 of the size). A manager came over and was not happy when I told him that. He said that was their normal size chimi’s. To top it all off when I took my first bite it was lovely.
