I have been eating at The Mexico Restaurant since the mid-90s when they were in the shopping at Hathaway Rd. and Forest Hill. So, this less than positive review is troubling.Yesterday afternoon my husband stopped in to pick up a bag of chips and cup of red salsa and white salsa. That part of the experience went well. As soon as he arrived home I put the chips in a bowl. Stuck on one of the chips was a crispy-fried big black ant stuck to a chip so permanently that I could not even pick it off with fingernail. It was a large black carpenter ant. You could count its legs and see its antennae. Needless to say…..I lost my appetite for chips. Then I put the salsas in bowls. I tasted the red salsa with a spoon. Yuck! It had Anise in it! Anise is a Mediterranean sweet spice and only recently has been added to Mexican desserts and poblano Mole. NOT SALSA! All of it went in the trash. Please stop trying to change foods that are delicious as they are. As far as the ant goes….well….it will be a LONG time before I’ll eat chips and salsa from The Mexico Restaurant.

This was our 2nd visit to this location, and it was just as good as the first visit!!! Keep up the good job!!! We will be back!!!
They messed up my take-out order. The food was okay but is not what I wanted. This was to be my birthday dinner.

Prices are slightly or the higher side for the area an it being Spanish restaurant, but the portion sizes are nice, no complaints really, it's a solid restaurant, not the best but can't complain about to much, would recommend if in the area an have a taste for Spanish

I've had food from here a few times, last time it was just ok, in comparison to my other experiences there. I had ordered online and when I went in to pick up my food, I waited over 7 minutes.
First time here and I got the Quesabirria Tacos while my sister got the steak fajitas. All the food was absolutely delicious and flavorful. I also ordered a Tres Agave Margarita, it certainly packed a punch lol but again was delicious!!! Our server Esperanza was very nice & attentive to our needs as well. Also great music to chow down to lol, I will definitely be coming back soon!!

Good food and the drinks are strong! I ordered a premium Margarita regular to go and it had me feeling GOOD! No watered down drinks here. Definitely recommend.

My order came out to around $80, I was excited to try this restaurant out for the first time. I was really disappointed, it was so nasty, poorly seasoned (was plain, no seasoning at all), and soggy. They also use pre-cooked/frozen shrimp. It is not worth the money.
Great place to eat and have a drink. The food is consistently good.
