We used mosaic catering for our wedding, and I would not recommend them. Our tasting with them was lovely, and the woman we worked with was very helpful, up until a couple weeks before our wedding this past fall. I know fall is a busy wedding season, but we weren’t able to get our finalized invoice until the day before our wedding, as we were packing up to leave for our rehearsal dinner. The cost was higher than we had expected based on our previous quotes, and they had added an additional floor lead that we had never discussed. We pushed back but ended up still paying it, as we didn’t have much time at that point and we were concerned if we would still have service at our event if we held off paying it until it was resolved. After our wedding, we had to push back and go up the chain of command to try and get a refund, which we did end up getting (thank you again for your help with this, Mandie!). But it was stressful and definitely not something I would have wanted to deal with the day before our wedding. We also heard there were some communication issues/rudeness with them in the back of house (not the servers)–so we didn’t see it, but it impacted our other vendors. The guests said their experience with them was good, but all things considered I would not use them again.

MOSAIC's express and holiday menus make my holiday meal planning a breeze! The choices are great, and several (Shrimp and Grits, Signature Pasta) have become expected holiday items. The folks are friendly, and pick up couldn't be easier for the delicious food.
We had an incredible experience working with Mosaic Catering for our recent event! Nathaniel and Billy went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. They were incredibly accommodating, answering all my questions promptly and providing excellent customer service every step of the way. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, leaving our guests raving all night. Mosaic truly made our event special, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their professionalism and attention to detail.
Mosaic always provides consistently excellent food and service. For work events they are always my choice.
Clayton was incredible! He made our girls night special with his vibrant personality. The Food, drinks, service were wonderful!
On Sunday October 6th, I flew out from the West Coast to attend the Wright & Clark outdoor wedding at The Historic Jasmine in Providence Forge, Virginia. The venue is charming and the weather couldn't have been more perfect on this Fall day.
I’ve been in the event industry for over 30 years. As owner of both a catering and event production company, I was looking forward to attending as a guest at this celebration.
Sadly, the catering was somewhat disappointing.
During the reception, there were long lines at the bar that could have been alleviated by a couple of staff passing wine or champagne. I'm not sure if that was arranged ahead of time but I always recommend that to my clients in the planning process. I thought the appetizers were good.
The dinner buffet was underwhelming. The meat was well prepared but I never saw a vegetarian entrée which was on the original menu. The potatoes were almost gone and the vegetables were low. There were other people who hadn't eaten so I took very little food and left hungry. I was happy to have snacks back at my hotel room. I never saw an attendant to make sure food was replenished as needed. No matter how good the food is, guests(and clients) always remember if it runs out, especially at a wedding!
There was little thought put into the presentation of the buffet. The table looked bare with only the few generic chafing dishes. It looked more like a set-up for the service staff. A few props, flowers or textiles can easily be built into even a simple budget.
The service staff at our table was attentive. The bartenders were helpful to me, although not very excited to be there.
We hosted a gathering at our house for about 40 folks and the Mosaic team did a wonderful job! From the delicious food, perfectly concocted drinks and wonderful service, Breona, Peter and Darien created a great evening! We were able to enjoy connecting with our guests while the team took care of all the details from preparing the food, replenishing drinks and food throughout the evening and cleaning up and organizing the leftovers. Excellent job Mosaic!
We chose MOSAIC for our wedding and they were fantastic! They were extremely customizable, quick to respond, and a pleasure to work with. The tasting was a great experience and the day of the wedding, we heard how much everyone loved the food! Having great food during a wedding is so important! Highly recommend.
I worked with Kristen Lowry as our main contact and I can't even begin to say how much we appreciate all of the communication and assistance that we were provided by her! We had a home wedding of about 30 people in total that had more of a relaxed schedule and her and her colleague were so accommodating day of and made the food related potions of the wedding so easy and with absolutely no stress on my side. She even came out to our home the week before to ensure the space we had arranged for the heavy hors d'vours would work. The food was an absolute hit with all of the guests and we were provided with more than enough for us and our guests to eat with even leftovers post event. As we only did heavy hors d'vours of 7 different varieties (our wedding was right between lunch and dinner) I can only speak volumes about how wonderful all of that was but if their grazing food was that good I can only imagine how great the full meals are! I can't recommend this company for catering enough after the terrific experience I had from beginning to end! If we have another event down the road that needs catering we will definitely be revisiting this company!

We worked with Tim from Mosaic for our wedding catering and he was exceptional! From our inquiry/first meeting through to the wedding day, he was very communicative, responding to my emails very timely (nearly immediately), always providing helpful information and really listening to what we wanted. He was knowledgeable about all of the options Mosaic could offer and always answered my questions thoroughly.
Our guests were raving about how delicious the food was and how quick the service was to be served and then plates cleared (we had a plated dinner for 155 guests)! The bartenders were also super speedy to make drinks and very friendly to our guests.
Would highly recommend hiring Mosaic for your wedding catering if you're in the market! And thank you, Tim, for making the process and day-of run so smoothly!
We hired MOSAIC to cook for a meal my husband was hosting for his work team. They advised us on the menu and were extremely responsive to my questions and change requests. The food was delicious (steak medallions with horseradish cream sauce, chicken breasts with tomatoes and pesto, several veggies/sides, the yummiest autumn salad I’ve ever had…everything but the veggie lasagna, which wasn’t a big hit even amongst the vegetarian crowd but wasn’t terrible.) We were so impressed and plan to work with them again for the next event. Highly recommend!
I just sent Tim an email pouring my heart out- but since the beginning he was A++++. We paid for the majority of the wedding ourselves and Tim was amazing at making it happen for us, and his communication was awesome. My mom is problematic (white dress problematic) and the whole team always made me feel so comfortable and confident that they had our back. Food on the day of was amazing and Tim helped me with all the 300000 questions and ideas I had. Every single team member there was BEYOND lovely and fun and truly I felt like their presence was a contributor to our wedding day. No seriously, my now husband made everyone get on the dance floor for a song and it was like my favorite part of the evening. We love you guys <3
Mosaic Catering & Events is my go-to for all of the events we do for my organization. They gladly accommodate our weird requests and go above and beyond. Special shoutout to Kristen and Pete who helped me IMMENSELY on June 20.
Work used them to cater a 2 day training and ordered a vegan lunch for me. Both lunches were not vegan. Day 1: included a blonde brownie. Manager was consulted. Day 2: Black beans and feta smashed on a bun. They don’t seem to care or take seriously special orders. Wish I had a lunch to eat right now. ???
