This isn’t a fair review because we haven’t tried it. We live in the neighborhood though and have tried to go there during posted, open hours, around 7-7:30, and the lights are on, and it looks open, but the door is locked. This has happened a few times, so we haven’t been able to try it.

Each order is made fresh and fully customized, so be prepared to wait if they are busy, but it’s absolutely worth it. Don’t sleep on the dairy-free options either as they’re just as good, if not better, than the regular dairy choices. The cereal add-ins create nearly endless combinations. It’s not cheap, but for the creativity and quality, it’s well worth it. My only knock is the inconsistent hours, but if you catch them open, I highly recommend stopping by.

I wish I had noticed the specialty menu to my left when I entered the store… it seems like those picks would have been delicious! It is all soft serve ice cream and I ended up with a choco vanilla swirl, blended with cookie dough bits, and topped with Reese’s puffs. It was really good, but like I said I would try a specialty next time for something different! The selection for create your own is impressive but a little overwhelming for a first timer. I will come back here again next time I’m in Richmond!

When I tell you this is the best place to get ice cream down in this area I mean it. Never in my life have I tasted a taste as exquisite as their banana pudding ice cream. Do yourself a favor and get some. It’s the creamiest ice cream with a delicious taste and mix ins that I dream about this ice cream. Every time I come I’m getting that banana ice cream TRUST. The dude working is super chill and nice and mannn that ice cream is good.

We enjoyed our experience at this ice cream shop. I have never been offered so many add-ins and toppings in my life. Gentleman who ran the shop was polite and did a great job for us. Chocolate ice cream, Reese’s Puffs cereal, brownie bits, caramel drizzle and whip cream. What more could you ask for? Thanks!

Ice cream was below average and tasted a bit freezer burned. Very expensive, especially for such small portions. The dude working there was more focused on his phone and definitely did not want to be there.

One Way is one of my favorite places to get ice cream in the RVA!
This store is odd in that when you first walk in, you’ll be greeted to an entirely empty store with no one at the counter. The people who run this creamery run the One Way market across the street simultaneously and usually stay over there. Once they see you walk into the ice cream store, they’ll come over. I’ve seen a lot of people come into One Way Cream & Goodies and when they don’t see anyone or it takes a second for a worker to walk over, they’ll leave without getting anything which is a shame because the ice cream and milk shakes there are amazing. If you choose to do their make your own milkshake / ice cream option (I forget the exact term they use), you start with either vanilla or chocolate ice cream, then you get to add your choice of cereal, a “goodie” (a topping / baked good treat), a drizzle, and even your choice flavor of whipped cream. They also sell ice cream by the scoop with a couple of flavors to choose from, and they have signature milkshakes (such as Death By Chocolate) for those who can’t choose on all 5 aspects of a BYO shake.
