Searching for a mushy yucky overpriced wrap? Head on over to Palanis. Bartender Babs sloppily drinks on the job.
Portions are quite small
Lots of vegan options. Tabouli wrap and spicy Thai wraps were good.

It really pains me to write a mediocre review, as I've been coming here for over 15 years. The quality has gone down in the past year or two. The servings are so small now and the food taste/quality is inconsistent. For example, I always get the hummus tabouli wrap and it's half the size it used to be with hardly any hummus in sight sometimes. I usually have to order a side of hummus to go with it, which adds to the fee. The bowls of chili (which are great!) are also super small now, as are the portions of other sides (hummus, tabouli, rice, etc.). The quality of things such as chicken is hit-or-miss. I usually order my food to go and lately I feel as if I'm a burden to the staff when I call to place my order, and it is not always correct. I love and have been recommending this restaurant for years but it's hardly worth the expense anymore. It used to be one of my favorite places in Rva due to the plentiful vegetarian options. Will happily update this to 5 stars across the board if it returns to the stellar quality that it used to be only a short time ago.

Food was great. Service folks were friendly. Music was wonderful.
Always good to see my old frien and owner, Jeff Weatherly. Stop into Palani for some delicious food and support a great local business and watering hole!
Great value smoothies, beers and wraps. Quiet at lunchtime but i suspect it would be buzzing later on. Decor is basic but who cares....would recommend a visit.
I was already hungry when I arrived in Palani. I ate a shrimp po boy, but it was so delicious! I really liked it. It's definitely become my favorite shrimp po boy. 😋🫡

Now I remember why I hadn’t been here in 20 years.
I asked for a Caesar salad and the guy asks “wrap?!” And I’m like sure dude.
This thing they brought me. It’s a wrap… maybe 3 bites of chicken. TOMATOES?! RICE?! No cheese, no elements of Caesar at all. I took one bite and it was inedible.
Adios to that $17💰🔥
Sorry the food just wasn't good. We purchased two wraps and two orders of the seasoned potatoes, seemed like the ingredients were microwaved. This was our first time here and it was just very bland and uninspired. Neither of us finished the food, we just threw it away and left.
Friendly, affordable and always excellent. Still a great neighborhood joint!
Vegetarian options: Not great for vegans but some vegetarian options.

Wonderful menu..tasty! Great service, friendly, welcoming and accurate. When we sat down, there were no booths available, but my friend and I were fine with our small high table. Then we ordered a lot of food. One of our servers suggested we move to a booth that had opened and helped us!
