Jaida Essence Hall show was cancelled just days before and instead of offering refunds Papi’s transferred tickets to a future event (at the time for a queen who any of us had yet to even meet on TV) and requests for refunds have gone unanswered from Papi’s, Sadbrunch, and eventbrite and it’s now day off the event. I have enjoyed going to Papi’s in the past but will not be attending any of their ticketed events again due to the failure to deliver the expected event and failure to provide an easy way to get refunds.

Update: okay so they did at least get me my refund within the day of posting this. While I’m frustrated by the lack of an easy refund option, I’m willing to primarily blame the show producers and say Papi’s at least reached out to me to get the situation taken care of. And I have enjoyed going to Papi’s when I’ve gone for dancing at least.

It’s fun but I don’t think they should do birthday parties. I went there and someone’s birthday party was happening, and the bday party host felt too entitled over the space in my opinion. If it’s open to the public expect the public to be there especially on the weekends. Overall really fun club I LOVE the drag queens!!!

Eye candy is great lots of friendly good looking guys. If your white have a black or mexican friend order your drinks the bar tenders ignore the hell out of white guys.

updates: Thank you for your response, but unfortunately, it completely misses the mark. Here are some key facts you seem to have ignored:

The security guard himself was smoking right in front of the door.
At the time we were yelled at, we weren’t even smoking. This was pure misjudgment and hostility on his part.
Other people were smoking in front of the door without issue, and security did nothing to stop them.

Instead of acknowledging this, you as the owner seem intent on deflecting and downplaying the discriminatory actions of your staff. this wasn’t just a misunderstanding. Your security treated us differently because we’re queer and people of color, and instead of addressing that, you’ve just deflected and avoided the real problem. It’s honestly shocking that you, as the owner, would handle this with such condescension.

And just to add that music was terrible. Step it up.

had an awful experience here due to the unprofessional, rude, and discriminatory behavior of the security staff. After stepping outside to talk, we stood off to the side, away from the line and other patrons. Despite this, a security guard aggressively approached us, yelled at us to ‘get away,’ and falsely accused us of blocking the line. When we tried to explain that we weren’t obstructing anyone, he continued to raise his voice, ultimately refusing to let us re-enter the bar without any valid reason.

As a queer, I felt genuinely threatened, unsafe, and unwelcome. Security staff are there to protect patrons, not misuse their authority to intimidate or harass. This experience was deeply disappointing, and the behavior I witnessed reflects a disturbing lack of respect and inclusivity. No one should feel this way at a place meant for community and enjoyment.

We've been to Papi's a handful of times. The first couple of times were for drag brunch shows, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The atmosphere is amazing and very welcoming of the lgbtq+ community. The one and only downside I've noticed is drink prices. The menu says one thing, but once you pay your tab, it's completely different. This past Sunday, we went for a drag show. I ordered (from the menu) a 16oz DRAFT Bud Light for $6. They didn't have Bud Light on draft, so I was given a 12oz bottle that was poured into a cup, and I was charged $7.28. That's absolutely crazy for a 12oz bottle of beer. The mixed drinks are good, prices for those are average.

It's super fun here the only complaint is the heat. I get crowded places can get hot but it felt like there was no ac in there. Like it was cooler outside than inside. Otherwise a great place
