This might be Richmond’s best “hidden” coffee shop. I just discovered it recently and just wish I had found it sooner! The barista’s are incredibly kind and the coffee is the best I’ve had in Richmond (personal fav/recommendation being the carrot cake latte). Highly recommend!!

Delicious matcha and breakfast burritos - be prepared to wait at least 20-30ish mins during peak times, especially if you get hot food. I wouldn’t advise working from here as there’s not a ton of seating and has loud acoustics. There’s limited street parking.

walked in and immediately got hit by the line
a great place to practice taking up space
if there is a line you will just be in everyone’s way wrapping through the shop
i felt condensed and clustered
ended up leaving without trying anything
maybe the drinks are good
the baristas were head down grinding and the atmosphere felt tense
didn't bring much comfort to me at all i'd say

Was very impressed by the attentiveness and hospitality of the staff Maddie and Liam this afternoon. The coffee was great, nice space, and exemplary service from the baristas- excited to come back!

Nothing but good things to say about Parousia!! Delicious coffee and food, incredibly kind staff, good music, different seating options, and they allow dogs. How could you not like this place??

Normally enjoy coming, drink was good but noticed barista would toss a quarter of the drink out just fit the foam in the cup, so probably actually got less espresso than I paid for. Maybe get larger cups if you’re going to put foam in or don’t make them. Also a number was given for order but no one ever said the number so you had to hover over the counter and look at every drink she put down to know if it was yours or not.

Best coffee cake I’ve ever had! I basically inhaled it. Also loved the pistacho iced coffee, not too sweet and perfect amount of espresso! 10/10 would recommend!

Parousia is the coffee shop equivalent of the burger joints where you sit on metal seats, are served a mid burger, and pay $8 extra for fries on the side. i.e. Aesthetic over comfort and intentionality. Wooden seats with tables that dont align with the height of the seat. Couches with nowhere to put your food and drink. Seating areas with no outlets in sight for people who may be here to work. Simultaneously not enough seating and seating crammed into tight spacss. My coffee was ok; I got a large chai w/ double shot. It was gritty and tasted burnt 🥲. The good: lots of natural light and nice staff. Might be good as a stop in place, will not be coming here again since I like to camp out at places.

Great coffee; however barely any seating area. It's a very small coffeeshop with uncomfortable wooden bench seats and literally 3 bar stools. There's a couch and chair....

Finally found good coffee in RVA! Would love if they had some gluten free food options in the future. But the coffee is good enough that I’ll be back for sure.

Never a bad thing here! Every latte I have had has been perfectly delicious and balanced, not too bitter or sweet. They know what they’re doing!!!

Delicious coffee and cozy seating! The seasonal drinks were delicious, and they have a solid breakfast food menu too. I appreciated that they brought our food to our table!
