Finding ourselves together on a Sunday night without dog and family, we ventured out to find somewhere cozy to eat and ended up at Patrick Henry's Pub and Grill. It was lovely inside as only a truly historic structure can be, and the staff on duty did everything she could to make us happy, including customizing the veggie pizza to make it a vegan (very good). We ended with a tour of the oudoor space covered by the spread of a truly enourmous ginko tree. If you haven't...
I've visited Patrick Henry's Pub and Grill several times, for meetings of a discussion group. I've always enjoyed their friendly staff, updated but unspoiled old building, their wonderful food with local connections, and they'll even serve me 50/50 pineapple and grapefruit juice.
We stay for a couple hours. It gets busy, but they still have room for us in a good spot.

Neat unassuming pub. Good place for out of towners to stop in for some local flavor. Didn't expect much from the outside, almost didn't go in but glad I did. Head downstairs for the pub. Good selection of food an and drinks.
