Go around 2 on a Sunday. Not much of a line. Street parking free on Sunday.
The Knish was great. My Rachel sandwich was a good value. The Latkes were ok. Iced tea was average.

This was my second time at Perly's and it has become a must visit when I am in Richmond. Both times I got there before they opened so I could secure a seat (it is crazy popular). The food is traditional Jewish Diner/Deli and it is all SO tasty.
Their Cinnamon Babka French Toast is incredible and I challenge pretty much anyone to actually finish it in one sitting. And this time I had the Corned Beef Hash and it was exactly what I was expecting from a Jewish Diner...so dang good!
Seating is limited, especially for groups. If you are a 1 or 2 person group, take a seat at the counter to skip the line.

The sandwiches were fantastic! We tried the Reuben roast beef with Russian sauce, and the portion was generous enough to split into two for a lunch meal. They did a great job of dividing it and serving each half on separate plates. The loaded schlibby fries were amazing as well. I would love to come back and try more items on the menu.

The best breakfast I have ever had in the USA hands down. Jewish cuisine. Long wait and no reservations. The phone listed on the website is a dud. Nevertheless the food is worth the trouble of 20 min wait. Simply delicious!

This place is fab & WORTH the WAIT! We thought we'd be hitting at a slower time, 10am on a Monday morning, ah nope! Once you taste the food you understand why it is so popular. Service is on point, and orders come out quickly. A local institution for sure. You must try the Jewish egg rolls!

Went here for the first time and it definitely lived up to the hype. My husband, who orders a reuben any time its on a menu, said it was the best reuben he's ever had. I had the Benny Goodman, and it literally brought tears to my eyes. It was that good. I'm not even exaggerating! I don't think I'll ever be able to order a salmon benedict anywhere else after this. We also got the Schlubby Fries - they were fantastic and it was a huge portion. The cheese resolidifies quickly, so it would be nice if they made this more into a sauce that straight up cheese but that's my only note!

While we were in Richmond for a few days we wanted to get to Perly’s. Very glad we did. It was so good we went every morning. This place was just phenomenal. One of the better Jewish delis I have been too. I will say that even though it was weekday mornings, the place still got crowded pretty quickly and we got there right when they opened. We went through a slew of items including the bagel and fish, Benny Goodman, matzah ball soup, hot dog, latkes, etc. All were fantastic. They may have had the best lox I have ever had. Very well balanced and seasoned perfectly. I would highly recommend coming here and bring your appetite because the portion sizes are large.

Perly's is one of my favorite restaurants in Richmond, breakfast or otherwise. The menu is compact and dialed in: the Jewish Sailor sandwich is ridiculously good, the house rye is the best I've had in town, the bagels with smoked fish are exactly what you want, and the duck pierogies (pillowy with duck and potato, finished with tangy homemade sour cream) are the dish I find myself daydreaming about.

Service is a joy. Everyone I've met here is warm and unfussy, and plates usually hit the table within 10 to 15 minutes. There are no reservations and prime breakfast hours on Fridays and Saturdays can mean a wait, sometimes close to an hour. That wait exists because the place is excellent. Show up at an off-peak time, say noon on a Wednesday, and you'll likely walk right in.

The eggs Benedict is a knockout. The corned beef hash is among the best I've had anywhere. The knishes and latkes and blintzes are top class, as is the chopped chicken liver. If I'm nitpicking, the corned beef and pastrami, while very good, don't quite reach the heights of the best spots in New York, Philadelphia, or Chicago. That's a tall benchmark, and everything else here clears it with room to spare.

If you live in Richmond or you're visiting and craving Jewish deli fare, go to Perly's. Get the matzo ball soup. Try the pierogies. You'll leave happy.

The pierogies here should be classified as a hate crime honestly just don’t order them , and the grav lox was inedible, I grew up eating Slavic and Jewish food my whole life and I thought I was ordering food that would be delicious I was so sadly disappointed the mave drink I ordered was delicious and well balanced it’s a shame they can’t carry that level of care over to the food.
I heard Richmond was a foodie city but all of the food so far has been so bleh

We set at the bar to eat since it was so packed. But they were so friendly. We had such a nice conversations. The food was very nice, warm and good. Everything was good except the inside was not that cool, like temperature-wise. But overall it was good! I would totally go there again!!

Incredible food but be prepared to wait about 30 minutes. Go early! Service was slow and our waiter had a frown on his face and had to be asked many times to bring water. Look past the poor service as the food made up for his lack of people skills.
