Placed a takeout order - service was fast, prices were good. They do have banh mi - and that was the biggest banh mi I've ever had. Like, by a wide margin. Id reccomend it.

Really good Vietnamese food. I always start with a grilled pork rice paper roll and peanut sauce. #12 soup is always a winner. #29 bowl is my other go to meal. Hit either one with some hoisin sauce, fish sauce and a little Sriracha sauce and you are good to go.
Service can be a little random during busy times. Sometimes appetizers or meals for a group will not come out at the same time. But the servers are very responsive and helpful.
All I know is I can't duplicate this flavor profile at home in my kitchen. So here I am back at Pho So 1. Definitely a favorite Richmond lunch or dinner spot. Oddly, they are closed on Tuesdays, so don't try to go on Tuesdays. 😆

Out of all the vietnamese restaurants in Richmond that I’ve visited, pho so 1 does grilled pork chop + pork loaf + pork skin with broken rice the best and offers the best value. Very reasonable prices for good portions and delicious food. Will be coming back regularly.
