Immediate seating and fast service; street parking available but watch the signs for duration. Food was flavorful, good selection of drinks, very pleased the bartender stopped by the table to confirm types of liquor when making an off-menu drink. The menu does have vegan/vegetarian options but is more limited in selection than some others nearby. Will definitely visit again.Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian options available

We for a work meeting and I had the hot honey chicken sandwich. I thought it would be “spicy “ hot but it was just hot in temperature lol. Luckily they had hot sauce. A friend ordered it too. It was very yummy! They do add a lot of honey so if you don’t like sticky fingers remember to ask for light on the honey! Overall pretty good sandwich and the fries were good too!! I loved their ginger drink ?! Great upstairs patio and vibes

We took a nice stroll to this unique little restaurant while at an event at the Altria. This restaurant is located in a cozy little spot and assist in the character of the area. We took a seat at the bar as we usually do to soak it all in. I have read this restaurant is known for a great roof top dining experience, but we cannot confirm as we did not see it. We came at that challenging time when shift changes are happening and they were not staffed properly for the event, causing the bartender to be a bit panicked. He maintained his composure well, but was a little less available which is understandable given the circumstance. The restaurant is neatly decorated and posses a great sense of character and offers a very relaxed vibe. The menu is not vast by any means, but the food offerings were diverse enough for just about anyone. Service began slow, however picked up as more staff came in and were caught up. The food was good, not spectacular, but we left full. They have a full bar for cocktails and offer a small assortment of local craft beer. Everyone was pleasant, except for the bar back in the Captain America shirt - who if you see, don’t ask him for anything. He seems to really hate people, as to be expected from a middle aged, out of shape man wearing a comic book shirt. However the bartenders more than made up for it as they were extremely out going. They apologized for the chaos and introduced themselves and took the time to get to know you, which is a lost art in the service industry. All in all, we would definitely come back if we were in the area.

3rd time back and was awesome. Left the national in search of food and pulled up to city dogs and the closed the kitchen hella early. Called in Postbellum and dude on the phone said let me know what food you want and I'll ring it in while you walk over ❤️ Drinks were good, smoked wings are better than kreggars, truffle fries looked and tasted amazing. Bartender was cordial and had a wonderful conversation with everybody at the bar.

Went to Postbellum with our daughter (VCU student) for a late lunch. The Beer Burger was very good. I ended up eating it with a fork and knife ; ). My husband had the shrimp and polenta (more like grits); he said it was good. Our daughter had the Chicken Biscuit; it was very good. I think they have outdoor seating, but it was a little too warm.

This. Place. Here. O.M.G...... I don't remember what the name of my salad was but it's the one with Watermelon. It's probably seasonal but if you get a chance please try it. There's a burst of flavor in every bite.We also had the wings, (Super yummy) fries ( they are very tiny and if cooked too long they're no good.) The vibes are really chill as we sat on the rooftop at the bar. The sauces are all home-made as well. It's a nice place to have a nice meal. ☺️

Painfully average. Obstructed rooftop views. Decent cocktails. I may or may not return.

Good evening I am writing to you a disappointed man. I went to Postbellum with high hopes. As I walked upstairs to the outdoor seating area music was playing, I figured the vibe was going to be immaculate. I thought wrong, there was no energy up there. The bartender took so long to make our drink, our appetizer came out before our drinks did. There was not a single person sitting at the bar... so at this point I'm a little ticked off. I just wanted to enjoy a drink and some dinner after a long day at work. Once we finally got our drinks, after our entire appetizer was crushed, more disappoint set in. I may have ordered the wrong drink. No time to order another one the place will be closed by the time I get my drink. Once our food came out I was happy with my salmon, but the potatoes had been drowned in lemon juice... those poor potatoes. My asparagus was soft not good. Overall, I'm not mad I tried it, but I wouldn't really particularly like to go back anytime soon.

Picked this place because I wanted to sit outside and the rooftop seemed like a nice spot. It was early Sunday evening, so not busy at all. We were seated right away though we arrived early for our reservation. We were sat at a high table and bar stools, but since we had a toddler with us we asked to sit at a regular table and away from the smoking at the bar. We were able to move tables so no big deal. After a few minutes, our server took our orders but notified us right afterwards that their shift was ending and needed to ring us up. Thought it was strange but we took the bill and paid all before even getting any food. We were told another server would be around to assist us. Some other servers brought us our food, which was pretty good. Got a couple chicken sandwiches and a burger. They were tasty. Issue was the service was so minimal. We basically had one person take our order, some other bring the food and that’s it. Wasn’t sure what or who I was tipping. No one checked on us or asked if we wanted a refill after we got our food. I’d say I can’t recommend this place honestly. Maybe just an off day but really missed the mark

This is literally my favorite place in all of Richmond. The staff is wildly top knotch. Great music, delicious food. Great service. Upstairs patio bar.... start a tab downstairs, and keep it going upstairs on the rooftop patio. Streamline goodtimes. Definitely check this place out.

Did not enjoy this experience. One of the drinks was good, the other was not. The womens bathroom was gross and when I told the person that worked there, they seemed to know and hadn’t done anything about it. The staff was nice at the end but they were very slow to get anything for us. The rooftop was a nice aesthetic and I would probably return for that, just not the food or service. You have to make a reservation before going there. They have gluten free options on the menu, too!

We normally cook for Easter but no one was up for it after the week we all had, and no one wanted to clean up after the kitchen destruction that takes place when I cook. Finding a spot for the entire family can be tricky with 2 strict Vegan daughters, 1 mildly picky niece, and the remaining daughter and we are voracious carnivores. I usually let the Vegans choose, and honestly, they've not disappointed yet. POSTBELLUM was perfect. We got there way too early, so we thoroughly enjoyed their rooftop bar area. We enjoyed some nice cocktails, then went back down for our rezzie. Kat took amazing care of our party of 6. I ordered 2 of their pickle pots for the table. I could've eaten 1 of these delicious mason jars all by myself. I love and always go for in house pickled anything, and from the flavors, these are definitely made by the team here. My daughters thoroughly enjoyed their Vegan "wings." I'm not a fan of eating much soy based stuff, but whatever was used, the cook hit it outta the park with the flavors at least in the bite I was allowed to try. Other dishes my family enjoyed were the fried chicken biscuit with fantastic fries, that apparently had been dusted with an addictive substance, as well as the vegan tacos. I felt like my dish was the "pièce de résistance." The whole steak for brunch or breakfast can get weird, as in my experience it's seldom executed to my liking. Either I get over cooked steak, or yolks on eggs that needed just 1 minute less cooking time. In this case, what came to my table was perfect. Perfectly seared and subtle crust on the steak and medium rare to rare on the inside, with to sunny side eggs that I promptly cut into, to allow God's perfectly designed gravy, to combine with the green almost pesto topping, to bless that steak. I almost said grace twice. Great cocktails, atmosphere, and food.

We came here after our reservation for 8 was lost at another near by spot. I called and asked if they could accommodate 8 for brunch and was immediately met w kindness and " we can do that, come whenever" we walked in and were seated right away. The cocktail menu was awesome! The brunch menu had so many vegan and other dishes that honestly made it hard to chose because everything looked so good! We ordered from the full spectrum of beers, cocktails and wine and everyone was impressed! The food was unreal!!!!! So yummy, the flavors were on point and the portions were generous! The service was great and I will definitely be going back here! Thank you for a lovely start to our day!

Had the vegan biscuit and gravy, it was super tasty! We went during brunch, and had many options.
