I absolutely love this place! The pies are delicious and always hot and fresh, and the service is always prompt and friendly. I always make it a point to go here whenever I'm in Richmond. One of my all-time favorites!

Impressive texture on the vegan coconut pie but the taste wasn’t very coconut-y. Just tasted very much like cream.

We got three savory pies the vegetarian curry, steak and cheese, and spinach and artichoke. They were amazing! We wish we were in town longer so we could go again. Will 100% be attempting to recreate these at home.

The sweet pies were also amazing - we did the mud pie and the pumpkin tiramisu. 10/10

Delicious pies and friendly staff. I don't live in Richmond anymore, but I make sure to stop by anytime I'm in town. The dessert/sweet pies are definitely good, but my favorites are the savory pies - they can't be beat!

I love this place, I've been here twice, and each time has been fast and delicious. The ladies working there are great, fun to talk with, and open to giving you suggestions if you are unsure. They have vegan options as well for those who do not eat any meats. So far, I've had the buttermilk chicken pie (to die for.) And I also tried a breakfast pie, and I can not remember the name of it, but they were both five stars.

So far, I have not been let down by this place and will happily stand in the line for a pie I know I'm going to melt over.

Oh, nothing beats a Proper Pie on a chilly day. Try the mince & cheese!

Proper Pie came into being offering limited inside dining and fresh pastries and pies. The business has now evolved into take out only, offering aged refrigerated products, funneled through a “pie hole” in the front door, while the lowly customer braves the outside elements. Once an intimate place to go for fresh desserts, the restaurant has lost its appeal and the product quality has regressed along with it. Yet, at $7.50 per slice, demand is apparently still there…….but not for me.

Try the pie! Savory or sweet, they are all amazing. Personal favorite is the Pear and Cranberry Streusel.

Proper Pie is a true staple of Church Hill. Not only is every pie phenomenal but the service is amazing. Today I had placed a mobile order and due to personal circumstances come up was unable to go get my order. Not only did they call before close to check in but the gentleman on the phone was very kind and understanding. Proper Pie is always my friend groups go to for Sunday lunch.
