No stars deserved! This is the 2nd time I've ordered Pupusas and my hair is breaking out. The first time I told the waitress that I had hair in one of my pupusas and she just said oh okay, I had to tell her to change them and she put the same ones on another plate and they are going to ask how do you know that? I know this because I had already added tomato sauce and the pupusa was already stained with sauce. And the second time maybe the hair cooked in the cheese is too bad.
The bad thing about eating there is that they don't give cutlery. I ordered some pupusas and they didn't give a knife or fork with my fingers. I had to eat and that's not the case. Instead, I went to another restaurant and ordered pupusas and they did give cutlery there.

THE PUPUSAS LOOK LIKE 5 FOR THE DOLLAR, INCREDIBLY SMALL AND VERY THIN. AND $2.40 PER UNIT. IT'S A REAL SCAM. BETTER VISIT MY TOWN STORE, BIGGER AND MORE DELICIOUS

They charged me $2 for a cup of tap water. I will never come back. Do yourself a favor and please check pupuseria el Salvadoreño instead way better food and customer service.
Everything is very different and when the owner's son is in the place he always looks at you with anger and contempt. He feels like the last Coca-Cola in the desert. We clients were not going to ask for free everything is paid for and the man apparently resents that we have bought him. Doña Mercedes is greatly missed.

The pupusas were delicious! We ordered three different kinds: queso, frijoles, and revuelta. They were all well seasoned and the cabbage slaw (curtido) was just right. We were so full for a very reasonable price. Pupuseria Mercedes is a little gem and well worth the visit.
