I dined here for the first time on Nov 22nd. I took my Wounded Warrior Project veterans group there to eat.

Our accounting department contacted me because the receipt amount I took a picture of didn't match the amount submitted by the restaurant. I lined through no tip, because I added the tip on my personal credit card; however, an $20.00 tip was annotated on the store copy receipt.

I came in and spoke to the manager (Andrea) I believe her name was who was very apologetic and corrected the issue.

The same server had added an extra $10.00 to my personal card on top of the almost $30.00 I tipped her.

Its sad you have some dishonest people working in restaurant establishments, and you have to check your receipt and bank account to ensure they both match.

This is a ridiculous establishment. My grandmother came to this place, and one of the waitress forged my grandmothers receipt and stole money from two different bills. Over 35$ was stolen from her. Be careful when coming to this place I wouldn’t trust them.

This place deserves your attention, at least once. Stepping in really felt like I just warped to a little restaurant nook in New York. They have the atmosphere down with the smell of charred meats and compact location.

I got pupusas and the chopped cheese. This thing is packed with meat.

Second visit:

Empanadas very good!

Pineapple pork sandwich is just okay. It's not on a pineapple bun like the menu says and it's not glazed. Doesn't fit the vibe of extra large ny sandwich when you compare it to the chopped cheese.

Lowered my rating to reflect the second visit

This is a fantastic place that makes you feel as if you’re in another world when you walk in. It’s small with a few tables but the food packs an amazing punch.
We each got tacos (3 beef and 3 Birria) & would highly recommend. The Birria tacos were the best I’ve had anywhere (and I order them a lot!)
Highly recommend!

Overpriced, and the service was terrible. Our server tried to pretend we hadn’t ordered happy hour drinks—charging full price for canned beer during happy hour—and then told us that next time we should “let them know in advance” if we want the smaller-size cocktails (which, apparently, are the happy hour versions). News flash: there’s no mention of a smaller size anywhere on the menu, and I’m not clairvoyant. The only redeeming part of the experience was my gorgeous blonde wife sitting next to me.

The service was warm and I actually found parking in front. I ordered the pollo guisado and it was just like the chicken stew in nyc. The plantains were perfect not mushy and I enjoyed the black beans and rice.

If you are looking for an authentic NYC chopped cheese this isn't it. I've been twice and had the chopped cheese both times. Just way too big. Close to a pound of meat on an 8-inch sub roll? It just falls apart - the sandwich has no structural integrity. Be prepared to eat it with a knife and fork.

I came in with no expectations, but even if I had high ones, they would have been exceeded. I was disappointed to learn they’re closed on Mondays, so I had to come back the next day. Also, keep in mind they usually close around 8 p.m., and the kitchen starts winding down before then.
The atmosphere is cool and laid-back, with a nice vibe. There are a few beer and liquor options, and the menu is surprisingly plentiful. I went with the El Cubano sandwich—my first thought when it arrived was “WOW.” It was massive, prepared quickly, and absolutely delicious. It was so filling I couldn’t finish it and ended up taking half home.
Service was great—the bartender, who was also handling tables, was friendly and attentive. Overall, an excellent spot that I’ll definitely return to.

What a fun spot! Quaint and eclectic this place had us playing eye spy our entire dinner. The food was absolutely amazing. It's small with a tiny one person kitchen, so don't be in a rush. Take your time and take it all in! I can't wait to try something else on the menu!
