The coffee is amazing. The owner is great. They are open limited days and they will sell out of the special way before they close on those days.

LOVE Recluse Coffee Bar & Roastery! Make sure you strive to stop by when they do pop-ups, which is only on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) - they collaborate with other local businesses/bakeries, and their specialty menu gets sold out FAST! This is a walk-up, and you kind of go in little alley next to the roastery; the staff here are SUPER friendly and welcoming - HEART! I tried: +a cup of hot coffee with oat milk +the Cascara Lime Slushy +the Ginger Spiced Chai latte My absolute favorite was the Cascara Lime Slushy - if you're a limeade fan, you need to check this drink out! Super cold, refreshing, and the right amount of tang! We went a little later, so we missed out on the baked goods, but next time! There are plenty of street parking in the area. Check this local roastery out - you won't regret it! +pop-ups on weekends - check their social media for updates +great local roastery! +super friendly & welcoming staff! +plenty of street parking

Great coffee, awesome people. If you’re going to the pop-up shop (first weekend of the month), be prepared for a bit of a line.

A wonderful coffee experience everytime. The owners are delightful folks who alway provide great service and even more outstanding coffees! They have a unique rotating menu of coffees and speciality beverages along with an alternative milk option. The owners don’t do anything halfway and it’s reflected in their business! Lovely to have yall in the coffee community, <3

The line was long and for good reason! The coffee is excellent and everyone I’ve encountered working there is extremely nice. I’ll be back for sure.

So, just a window in a wall at this point but peeking in, I'd say it looks pretty top shelf. You can walk up and order beans, coffee and a variety of nibbles that all looked really good and I absolutely loved the coffee. Broke my usual just "dark and black" routine due the Maple Black Walnut latte they were offering that day. Very unlike me but Oh Dear Lord it was good!!!

You know this place is "coffee snob friendly" when it's only open for drinks on the weekends for several hours. It's also in the middle of an alley (pretty secluded) in Scott's Addition. My friends and I came at around 11:30 AM and there was a decent length line of eager people waiting to grab coffee and buy beans for the week. I heard there was a partnership with an ice cream truck the weekend before for affogatos, but sadly it wasn't here this past Saturday! I got my go-to which is a cortado (espresso made with "Ethiopia - Mulish Natural" (tasting notes: raspberry, orange, lime) with oat milk and the espresso was very fruity and juicy! It's definitely a strong espresso flavor that was delicious and impressive. Sadly, not much lingering espresso after taste, but still very tasty! Because of Yelp recommendations, my friends and I all got a "Black Walnut Maple Latte" each. I requested oat milk for mine (no extra charge, which is fantastic and rare!). It's a bit expensive ($5.50 for a 12 oz latte) but definitely a unique drink that I would buy when I come back. I'm not usually a latte person, but I was impressed by how delicious it was! Overall, it's not super sweet, which is what I prefer. The blend of flavors taste amazing together; I can pick out the subtle fruitiness of the espresso among the black walnut maple syrup. The oat milk also balances the drink well, and the lingering sweet after taste is delicious. There's not a strong espresso after taste, but that's OK because the drink is still amazing without it. I'm super glad I got this drink (my friends enjoyed it, too!). Only caveat is that I should have gotten a regular latte (not iced) since the ice melted pretty quickly, meaning the drink was kind of watery. I also for a few bag of beans ($16.50-19 for one 10.5 oz bag unless it's a specialty) that I know will be delicious and of amazing quality. I'm not sure if they rotate their beans here but I'm excited to try the variety I got! Overall, great place and I would recommend this local RVA roaster to any coffee snob in the area!

Great coffee, great people. Also the best chai. Pizza Bones provides excellent food options as well.

I was told this was the best coffee in town. My intel was good, and on top of that the owners are a wonderfully sweet pair.
