I just visited today after being referred by a friend. I had the fish, shrimp, chicken and fries. Absolutely a hidden gem in the Chamberlayne Ave area. The exterior lacks appeal but the food quality and service makes up for it. I even tried the special seasoning and it was !

There seasoning is amazing! Definitely going to see if I am able to just buy that LOL. The crab cakes are not fresh they are made with imitation crab, the catfish was frozen and thawed out and I bit into a crinkle fry that was not fully cooked. The shrimp I had those were great! I know Sugar Crab Shack is a bit of a wait but I will go there cause at least I know my seafood is fresh!

The employees up front are the most rude human beings. The cashier hung up in my face as I was placing an order because “he had a line”. Every time I try to support and spend my money here they show me why I shouldn’t! The food isn’t that great as well. 10/10 would NOT recommend simply just based off their customer service.

HI GUYS THIS PLACE IS AMAZING, as long as you aren't being served by the guy with glasses ?, then you're good. Prices are amazing. The owner and staff respects people of all colors and nationality. The food is safe, it will save you if you're on your last dollar and need something for $6-$9 full plates. SUPPORT THEM THEY GOT YOU. just request not to be around the dude with glasses. Enjoy

The food is surprisingly delicious. I was kind of skeptical about going at first, but I'm glad I gave them a try. The shrimp, fish, oysters, and chicken are so good. The food is cooked perfectly and the staff is nice. The prices are awesome! You get a lot of food for what you pay.

Great fried fish. I got the fried catfish and I liked dipping it in the hot sauce in the plastic container. Also make sure when they ask to get the seasoning sprinkled on the fish. Not sure what the specific spices are but it is mild and tastes good.
