1st time at Roy's in along time because I live in Florida. The double cheeseburger was AWESOME. QUICK friendly service. Sat outside at the table. I definitely recommend eating at Roy's.

If you’re ever in the Lakeside area and craving classic American comfort food done right, Roy’s Big Burger is the spot you have to hit. This place is an absolute staple and it feels like stepping back in time in the best way possible, with food that hits every single time.

Let’s talk breakfast sandwiches first. They’re simple, fresh, and packed with flavor. Whether you’re grabbing a bacon, egg & cheese or going for sausage, they don’t skimp on quality or portion. It’s the perfect way to start your day hearty, hot, and made with care. Today I had a chicken egg bacon and cheese sandwich with onions and pickles. It was absolutely delicious!

Now, the burgers... unreal. Juicy, perfectly seasoned patties, classic toppings, toasted buns — they keep it old school and that’s what makes them so good. Every bite is the definition of satisfaction. Add some crinkle fries tater tots or onion rings on the side and you’ve got yourself a serious meal.

And you cannot leave without trying one of their milkshakes. Creamy, thick, and full of real flavor it’s the cherry on top of the whole experience. Whether you go for vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry, it’s like a throwback to the golden age of diners.

Roy’s Big Burger isn’t just a place to eat — it’s a whole vibe. Great service, fast food made fresh, and a down-to-earth local feel that keeps people coming back. 10/10 recommend. One visit and you’ll be hooked!

A historic restaurant. Order at the window, tables outside, great food, very popular

I ordered a Philly steak, a hot dog, and a chicken sandwich. The food was good, but the service was disappointing. After finishing our meal, I asked the lady behind the counter for hand sanitizer. She said they didn’t have any and suggested I use the restroom instead. However, when I went to the restroom, there was no water, the toilet was filthy, and there was no latch on the door. Outside, napkins and tissue paper were scattered all over the road. Overall, while the food was decent, the hygiene and service need serious improvement.

My girlfriend and I have been going to Roy's for years. We have always had a great experience there.....but it seems like things have changed a bit recently.

We usually go to Roy's on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for a late lunch or early dinner. A couple months back we got there right about 3:30. About 5 minutes later while we were waiting for our food, two gentlemen walked up...the lady that took our order told them they were closed. One of the gentlemen said it's not 4:00. She said, yes we close at 4:00 and wouldn't take their order. Me and my girlfriend just looked at each other and took notice.

Yesterday (March 15, 2025) knowing they want to get out of there at 4:00, we got there at about 3:20. This time my girlfriend ordered a vanilla milkshake. The lady told us the shake machine was already down as they were closing at 4:00.

I'm sorry, I just don't get it. If you don't want to serve customers..... then why open your doors at all? If you're not going to be open the hours you post.......why post them!?!

I really don't know if there has been a change in management or ownership. But I do know this, the people working on the weekends don't understand that the reason they have a job is to make that business money. Turning away customers ain't getting that done!

BTW, we went to Sonic.....which not as good of a burger, but my girl got her vanilla shake. And instead of costing us almost $30 (because Roy's has got that tip thing going on!), it cost us only $22.

Do better Roy's....you have a legacy to preserve!

Perfect roadside burger and more place--why go to a chain when you have an option like this?

I ordered the big burger dressed (all the way) with heavy onions and chili. What I got? A big burger with only onions and chili.

Hello, I am 8 years old and here is my review:

I loved the corn dog and I also really liked their cheeseburger, I think it may be my second favorite burger! I really like their options and honestly this place was very cool to be at especially after biking. I’m totally going to come back to this place sooner or later.

A big ball of nostalgia for a time I never lived in, this outdoor eatery offers an expanded menu that, in addition to great, reasonably priced burgers, includes fish sandwiches, barbeque sandwiches, fried pickles, and more. And the fries are delicious, though unsalted, so if you need that be sure to grab some. It's like a Five Guys with prices for families and normal people.
