Don’t be fooled into thinking Scotty’s is only a place to grab a drink and classic bar food. The food I have ordered off their menu has been excellent - namely the Brisket Grilled Cheese, and the Steak Sammy. They were excellent and much more impressive than a classic bar burger and fries. Their food menu and food specials are also excellent deals for someone who wants good food for a bargain.

In early August 2025, I reached out to two venues—Movieland Bowtie Theatre and Scotty’s Taphouse—to host my son’s 12th birthday party. Both offered duckpin bowling, which was perfect for our multigenerational gathering. While Movieland never responded to my inquiry, Scotty’s stood out immediately with prompt, professional communication.
From the moment we booked, Scotty’s delivered excellence. They offered flexible reservation options, a robust menu with catering choices, and affordable pricing. The food was delicious, and the service was truly world-class. Our server and staff were attentive and kind—providing a cake-cutting utensil, offering to store our birthday cake in their fridge, setting up the bowling lanes, and checking in frequently to ensure everything ran smoothly.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and every guest—from the 12-year-old birthday boy to our 83-year-old matriarch—felt cared for and included. Scotty’s didn’t just host a party; they helped us create a joyful memory that our family will cherish for years.

Concerned about the wrong things. Have an age minimum but have witnessed a 60 year old man recording women dancing. Rapey atmosphere. 21 year olds are not the issue.

Scotty’s Taphouse is one of the best bars and music venues in all of Richmond. I highly recommend going there for a really fun night. They have duckpin bowling, a mechanical bull (some nights), corn hole, ring toss, as well as great drinks and food. There is plenty of space both inside and outside (with an amazing patio) and multiple bars. There is also a live music stage inside and a spacious dance floor which is always a great time. The owner and staff are extremely friendly/professional and it is a very well run establishment. Definitely my favorite night life spot in Richmond and it is only getting better over time through constant innovation!
