Did a quick Google search for dinner tonight and I'm so glad this place was one of the options! Everything was incredible. From the hostess to our server Javon, everyone was so hospitable. Our appetizers (we ordered three đ) were on point as well as the entees and desert. We will be back for sure! Perfect for a date night.

I dined at this restaurant on Valentine's Day. This was my first time in Richmond and I can say the experience at this restaurant was a great contributor to a wonderful trip.
The restaurant itself had so many different elements that somehow all worked together. From the nature decorations, lighting and music it was absolutely perfect.
The food was absolutely amazing and the staff was equally amazing as well. Thank you Shagbark for an amazing experience and I hope to return soon

The best meal I've had a a restaurant for some time. Everything was as it should be. That is an incredibly high bar for any restaurant. Cocktails were delicious and offered something different. The diver scallops were presented in a different way, and done to perfection. The wine list was deep, with something for everyone. Our selection was a lovely complement to a steak with lobster risotto. That dish required a moment of silence to appreciate the flavors doing a sublime dance in our mouths. Dessert, Moscato and coffee to finish. One bobble, with the wrong glass, was quickly corrected. Our server was an adorable young man who did everything to make our evening special. While we didn't order it this time, do not overlook the pork chop.

This restaurant was amazing! It was a vibe, from the music, the staff, and the food. Emily and Rachel were our servers and they offered great food and drink selections! The roasted and fried oysters were magnificent (some of the best I've had in the city). My husband and I will be back again for another date night adventure!

We had an excellent meal at Shagbark! We tried the fried green tomatoes, crab cake, duck, pork chop, and sticky toffee pudding. All were excellent! My partner didnât think he liked duck until he tried Shagbarkâs duck. The service and ambiance were also great.

Food is fine, yet definitely not worth the price. Our bartender and waitress were also *very* rude. We chose this restaurant for our companyâs holiday party and upon scooting a bar stool aside to make space for a colleague, the bartender hollered at me âMove that back please.â A second time he literally said to me - a grown adult - âNo, no, no, no - Move that back.â Our waitress bossed the table around the entire time. We couldnât believe it. This was our second year having our team company party and you can be assured we wonât return!

The food is amazing, starting with bread, then appetizers, entrees and desserts, each course just gets better and better! I havenât had better duck anywhere, and Shagbarkâs pork chop is my go-to for a great meal anytime.
Believe it or not, the drinks are even better! The bar manager, Miguel, could win Olympic gold medals for mixology, you will never go wrong with a beverage here. Walk in, share what you like, and the bartenders here will spin gold!
The staff overall are some of the kindest, friendliest, and most knowledgeable people, listen to their recommendations and you cannot go wrong!

My daughter and I met at shed books for dinner in the evening on a Thursday night. Without a reservation they were still able to see us. We ate off the regular menu. I had the pork chop and she had the chicken and both were absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly served beautifully with wonderful accompaniments.
