I placed an online order for a pound of brisket for my family’s Hanukkah dinner. I called around the time I had scheduled pick up to let them know we’d be running late and that I had ordered too much, I asked if I could reduce the size of the order. The man that I spoke to said it would be a HUGE inconvenience to reduce the size, I said ok no problem. My partner went to pick it up and they first off couldn’t find the order, asked him several times what the name was (when I called not even 30 min prior), the man didn’t even help look for it just ordered around all the ladies and blamed them for not finding it. Then when my partner gets home with the order it is in a simple box that could have EASILY been reduced to a smaller amount. Talk about lazy and rude! The brisket is also disgusting and full of fat. Really disappointed.

It was different that what I was thinking. We were in town for an event that started at 6pm and we knew parking was going to be tight. We stopped here at Smohk, which was back off the road and had outside picnic tables n seats. There was tables inside as well. The owner, was great in answering our questions, we ordered to go and the chicken, brisket and collards green were delicious. When in the area, we would go again. We arrived at our destination in plenty of time to eat and get great parking. Thanks We would go agai

Independent BBQ places, which also have the best food, are usually hard to find and are supported by loyal fans. Smohk is tucked away; go to the side door next to the big smoker, and order your food not ten feet from the smoker door. The pit master will answer any questions and then serve up the tenderest brisket or the most delicious pork belly. Dine inside where it is clean and cozy or sit outside under the umbrellas. Smohk's neighbors(a brewery) also have outside dining so it can be hopping. The Brunswick stew is award winning and delicious but don't let take away from the BBQ. Search out Smohk.

My heart is broken! Less than 2 weeks before my wedding and the caterer cancels due to their mistake and my questioning it. Not only is is so last minute, but the unprofessional message I received from their representative, Elizabeth Sexton, was absurd! We placed a catering order for November 1st, but when they sent the invoice (over the weekend) we noticed it had the incorrect sides and the additional sauces that needed to be charged were not on there. Being as it is a VERY important day, I was reluctant to pay an incorrect invoice, though I offered multiple times over the weekend to pay it anywyas. Today, I go to follow up about my emails over the weekend and Elizabeth replies that the order has been cancelled. I expressed to her that I tried to reach out over the weekend and she replied with "I don't know what game you are playing". This is my WEDDING DAY. I can assure you I am NOT playing games, nor do I want to. Planning a wedding is incredibly stressful and the last thing I needed was for the caterer to cancel, and to cancel VERY rudely. I even made the suggestion to place the order again or we will just do platters on November 1st and pick it up the day of the wedding. I also suggested paying for the wrong invoice just to get us on the books, but Elizabeth Sexton was reluctant to own up to her mistakes and actually had the audacity to say the invoice was updated and I am incorrect. I am including pictures of the invoice...still wrong... this is a screenshot from last night, after the invoice was said to bw corrected. Maybe we dodged a bullet, there is no telling what kind of sketch behavior she would have pulled on the actual day of my wedding. Don't put faith in this vendor! Sucks that their food is so good... like is said in my emails, it is a shame. If you want a caterer who is risky, sketch, flaky, and rude, go for it. But there is no telling what kind of awful awaits for you last minute because of Elizabeth Sexton. The cherry on top is she was so questionable herself. When we went to go taste the food initially, we drove 2.5 hours to the venue, but Elizabeth Sexton wasn't there so a chef filled in. He was GREAT! But not knowledgeable about packages and pricing, so from the beginning I should have know.
What a stressful situation on what should be one of my most important days in my life.
Right now, Domino's or Chic Fil A is our only option. Thank you Smohk for giving me ZERO options, ZERO solution, and a bunch of ATTITUDE. Elizabeth Sexton, you botched this big. (I will definitely add the pictures if the emails and incorrect invoice)

Had the brisket, which was AMAZINGLY flavorful despite not being TOO moist and fatty. Collard greens were faithful, and the staff let me try every sauce available when I told them I was new to the area. If you want great bbq at a reasonable price, go here immediately!
Came across this little hidden gem while looking for a place with good BBQ. Glad I came across them, the brisket was very well smoked with excellent flavor. Please give them a try if you ever near Scott’s Edition

We were visiting from Ontario, Canada and decided to try this place. We were greeted by a friendly server who helped us order our meal. The brisket, pulled pork sandwich, beans and Mac n cheese were all so good! Another customer told us how he discovered this place last week and this was already his third time there. Little hole in the wall place with absolutely delicious food

We made a pit stop in Richmond for a beer and dinner. We found this restaurant and had to stop in. The atmosphere was cool because you walk in next to the smokers so it smells great. There was a tent with live music and outside seating. Conveniently attached to a good brewery. We ordered brisket, Mac and cheese, and baked beans. The food was outstanding. It will be a regular stop in the future

This is a great spot for barbecue. Lots of other places with more fanfare but the food here is great. I’ll go back in a heartbeat. Really nice people tucked away with outside seating and indoor. I’d much rather go here than the overcrowded places nearby.
