I ordered the smoked chop with generous turnip mash! Why is there hard/bitter chunks of turnip swimming in collard juice liquid? If the recipe changed the recipe let me know! I could have ordered something else! I ordered what was on the menu! And had drinks at the bar ( shout out to the bar staff)

Great place with elevated food. Never had anything there I didn't like. Service is always consistent and efficient. Atmosphere inside had a coop vibe. Patio is a nice extension.

From the parking lot it looks like a nice, small strip mall restaurant. Hidden behind that facade the food is original and superb and the service is fabulous. Creative cocktails add to the uniqueness. Well worth a visit.

It's no secret that Southbound has great food. Everyone in Bon Air and beyond knows. It's Bon Air's treasure. But, you may be asking yourself, is it worth the price? I don't like to spend a lot of $$ on going out to eat, so I was reluctant, but a couple of things stood out to me. 1) the atmosphere. It feels like a cozy cafe in Europe in there. I could hang out for HOURS 2) the food really does live up to the price but BONUS 3) the owner of the restaurant is a GOOD PERSON and that means a lot to me. He is a hard-working family man right here in our community. We all know the restaurant business is NOT EASY and so I'm happy and proud to support a non-chain who does this because it's his passion.

Went here for the first time for my mother's birthday. Started off with Steamed Pei Mussels these are the best mussels I've ever had and the sauce you guys should sell that stuff by the bottle. Absolutely delicious! We both had the Chicken special. Everything was good. Only thing I didn't like was they charged us two dollars for extra bread for the mussels.

The service and atmosphere was great! And our wedge salad wonderful! But our main dishes were terrible, and that’s why I only gave 1star for the food.My husband’s rigatoni with shrimp was bland. Even with adding extra pepper, he only ate the shrimp, which he said was coated with a bland sauce. My crispy fish (I was expecting fillets) was served whole, and I couldn’t cut through it because of the internal gut layer. It was visceral, and there was a membrane in it. When I showed the waiter, he immediately took it away and said it wasn’t fully cooked. I asked if I could order something else, because my stomach was turned by the fish. He said of course so I ordered a pork chop.My pork chop came out in 5 minutes! I don’t know how they did it so fast, but it was dry and overcooked. It could have been good, except I could hardly chew it!The dessert, on the house, thankfully, was not good either. The tiramisu didn’t have any resemblance to the classic Italian dessert. My chocolate hazelnut ice cream was super salty. I couldn’t eat it. And the coffee was weak.It wasn’t a good experience, and we both left hungry after a $100 bill.
