Everything is basically perfect, the servers are great, and the food is exceptional! The only downside is that there is a long wait most of the time for dinner because it is so popular. One of my favorite restaurants in town! đ

Warm, neighborhood atmosphere.
Welcoming entryway.
Maitre de immediately inside. Welcoming staff.
Service superb.
This was my first dining at This Stella's (Decades ago, dined frequently at Stella's closer to VCU.)
This atmosphere is light. Bright.
Saved best for last: FOOD! OMG. This is some of the best Mediterranean food I've had in years. And I love Greek. Even the lettuce and tomatoes were ripe and fresh. Fresh pita. Lamb perfection! Bisque... Mmm!
I'm hungry.

Two words -- Lamb Shank!!!, If you choose to ignore that piece of advice, then you can also try -- the Lamb Shank!!! đ
The No. 5 Pasta is HUGE, Crab cakes are excellent!! (but small and pricey), Artichoke Moussaka is fantastic, and the Dolmades & Keftedes are a nice start to the whole meal. Get dessert from across the street at Stella's grocery store and take it home and enjoy later.
We sat at the bar, four of us. The bartender was very attentive to us. The food was very good and delicious. Thank you for everything!

Stellaâs is great for a Greek experience. Been many times, consistently good food and service. Off the beaten path in a neighborhood. Love the cheese philo, Greek salad, and the Stella on draft. Had a shrimp entree that was good, also love the chicken souvlaki. Lots of food, I recommend. Greek store across the street has take out version of food served in restaurant. The neighbors are lucky. Reservations suggested however there is a community table

We recently visited Stellaâs for the first time. Itâs a Richmond staple, and we wanted to check it off our RVA bucket list. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience.
We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The space is aesthetically lovely with warm lighting and cozy spaces. Itâs loud but not unbearably so. Service was slow. We waited 40 minutes for our drinks and appetizer. I was starving at that point and excitedly bit into it, only to be burned severely along the left side of my mouth. I donât naively just chow down on hot food. I was careful but had no idea it was boiling inside. Days later, my gums are raw and blistered, and itâs very painful. If a plate comes out and thereâs a chance of that, they usually warn you thatâs itâs very hot and wait a while or something.
I couldnât eat more than a couple bites of my entree due to the burn, but our dishes were lackluster and the serving sizes varied greatly - mine was big enough for 3-4 people, while my husbandâs (who is twice my size) was tiny. When we ordered, it would have been nice to just get details on the portions if they vary so much (again, in my experience, waiters normally offer this type of feedback).
It was everyone in our partyâs first time, and we all left feeling jaded by the experience. Given the price range and weeks we waited for our reservation, there was a lot of room for improvement.

We had a great birthday dinner for my wife at Stella's! Both the staff and the food were amazing. We can't wait to come back.

Decor is very nice, feels very Mediterranean. Food was really good; the moussaka was superb! Pricey; normal-sized portions. Layout is cramped.

It was our first time at Stella's. We wished to get there so many times but were out of luck related to very limited reservations. I have heard fantastic things about this place and could not wait to experience myself. My husband and I came for day date for lunch, to enjoy beautiful day and catch up. We were sitted and greeted pretty fast. Since it was our first time, it took us some time to explore options, however, with a help of our waiter we landed on a sampler platter dish! It was plenty of food for lunch for two. Food tasted great and gave a great preview for the next time. The only thing that bothered me, was the fact that our waiter totally dismissed my husband, like he was not present. Waiter seemed to be intentional with making sure that I was happy, however, not once asked if my husband needed anything or how he is doing. Could be looked as â treating the queenâ first thing, however, I would prefer treating both of us equally. Overall, cute place with nice family vibe! I would love to come back soon to try some more food.
The restaurant is loud, but not disruptive. We were served by Jon, who was very intentional and kind. The food was outstanding! The feta, the fresh veggies, and multiple options - all with generous portions! My date and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner.
