Actively praying they befall the same fate as the DC location.

My friends and I were visiting from NOVA this weekend and decided to stop here for lunch. We ordered the spicy salmon roll, curry fried rice, and the coconut shrimp bowl. The spicy salmon roll was mostly cucumber and rice, not much salmon. The curry fried rice was good, but the coconut shrimp bowl was lacking. It was mostly filled with undercooked vegetables and barely had any noodles or shrimp (see video). When we told the server, we weren’t met with an apology or any attempt to fix it. Instead, we were told that extra noodles or shrimp would cost more. As teenagers, we weren’t sure if we were being taken seriously or not, but either way, the service was dismissive and not what we’re used to. Back home, if food comes out poorly, it’s corrected. This was one of the worst customer service experiences i’ve had, and it left a bad impression of Richmond overall. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this felt important to share.

This is the ONLY restaurant in Richmond that I've been disappointed by. The sushi is Kroger sushi quality at a much higher price point. Many of the drink items do not have prices listed, so I bought a can of beer and was shocked by the price of it when I got my check. It could have been much more transparent.

Always been great, but delivery has fallen off a cliff. Dropped $40 for two spicy rolls. Spice is now some weird powder on top, no chopsticks, soy sauce, wasabi or ginger. This over three orders in a few months. New ownership or something??
I ordered takeout from Sticky Rice and was very disappointed. I ordered the tofu bites, Popeye roll, and the much touted Veganzilla roll. The tofu bites weren't very flavorful and were dry. The Popeye roll was not good at all; I only ate one piece. The Veganzilla roll was messy, strangely spicy but yet had little to no flavor. I could only eat a couple pieces before I gave up. Would definitely NOT eat again. Ended up eating instant oatmeal with chopsticks instead.

Hubs got the Veganzilla roll while I got the Dirty Vegan bowl. The roll was absolutely incredible and very big (well worth the kindve steep price) while my bowl had so little rice it made me wonder why they even bothered asking if I wanted it. I wouldn’t get the bowl again but, when we come back, we’ll both get a roll instead of forcing Hubs to share with me 🤭

Love, love, love, love, Sticky Rice! ❤️ This restaurant is, in my opinion, one of the cornerstones of Richmond. Can you even consider yourself to be a true Richmonder, if you have not yet eaten here?! 😂 Their sushi is unmatched!! I am obsessed with their Unagi, yellowfin, a variety of their fresh made sushi rolls, miso and the seaweed salad. I love walking in the door because I immediately feel welcome, happy and right at home… The employees are always cheerful, on point with their service and have the best music playing- great atmosphere for a 1st or 6th date 😋, or just going out with the family, or a group of friends for a casual evening. Whatever the case may be, you just need to GET THERE and enjoy the deliciousness!! ✌🏻
Vegetarian options: Though I’m not a vegetarian myself, I do enjoy some of the vegetarian options and they are clearly labeled on the menu. All the ingredients are also clearly listed, so you know exactly what is in each dish.
Parking: I have never had a problem finding Main Street or even side street parking… I just come on down Main and pull over to the side of the road… Walk across the street and we’re good to go!!
Kid-friendliness: I have brought my son there on more than a few occasions, starting when he was about 2.5 years old… he’s now 10 and continues to steal my Sticky Rice stickers! 😂 He loves the place too, he just gets something along the lines of tempura instead of actual sushi and that works out just great for everybody. He is very much a people person and loves to stand in the booth and chat it up with the servers, they are SO sweet and kind to him which also makes us feel right at home at our favorite spot. ❤️

I used to attend college nearby and, as a broke student, could never afford to try Sticky Rice. Years later, I finally got the chance—and it was absolutely worth the wait. The sushi rice was perfectly prepared: not too dry, well-seasoned, and just right. Their food and drink specials were fantastic, with the veggie rolls standing out (and I’m not even a vegetarian!). The spicy salmon roll was another highlight—fresh and flavorful.
Our server was attentive and made the experience even better. The fun atmosphere, complete with karaoke and a gong, added to the charm. Honestly, I couldn’t find a single thing to complain about that night. I recommend to anyone looking for a fun place, especially in the evenings!
