Went with about 15 friends recently, on a Saturday in Jan, mid-morning. Given the frigid weather, it was a little cramped for those of us waiting inside, but considering the party size, the wait wasn’t bad.
Parking was free and fairly easy; you park, go inside to get a decal/voucher and put it in your dash.
Everyone’s food looked good!
I got the chicken and waffles; it was a lot of food. It was good too, but I forgot to take photos lol.
My friend has a cute and tasty Spice Girl themed mocktail. 💁🏽♀️
This place came highly recommended by foodies and picky eaters and did not disappoint. 👍🏽

The food was incredible, and the atmosphere was pretty solid, but the Service mainly the cleanliness, left a lot to be desired.
Upon our arrival, me and my wife were given water glasses, and my water glass had leftover lipstick staining from whoever used it last. It was a bright pink lipstick, which Should be very hard to miss, but was most definitely missed during clean up
Additionally, when our food was brought out, two different colored hairs was found in our food, both a long blondish hair in my wife’s food and a short black hair in my napkin when I opened it up to remove my silverware.
neither of which match me, nor my wife as she has long black hair and I have very short almost bald blonde hair
The food was incredible, and our waitress was really nice. If the cleanliness wasn’t so terrible, we would for sure come back. This is the first time in my life. The cleanliness has impacted my desire to come back to a restaurant so much.
I hope it was just a bad day as everything I ate was well above average. The chicken was cooked, excellently the Mac and cheese, brussels sprouts, collard greens and farmers appetizer was all top-notch. The dessert was great too.
But unfortunately, if they’re hairs in food and lipstick on glasses, I don’t even wanna know what other kinds of possible cleanliness issues are going on behind the scenes.
This is especially true when me and my wife spent $120 on the total bill with food, appetizer drink and dessert. There is a higher standard that needs to be met at that price point and unfortunately it wasn’t met.

Definitely your classic southern style brunch/dinner hub. Some food was over seasoned, some food was under seasoned, and some food contained a half sucked cough drop.
The evening was going well- staff was very friendly and thorough providing us with all the details of the menu and welcoming us into the restaurant. It wasn’t until the shrimp and grits arrived, that all went awry. About 3 bites into the grits, one of our party guests discovered a shocking surprise- no tails on the shrimp! If you get shrimp and grits regularly, you know this is a rarity. Anyways, about 3 bites more and an even more shocking surprise- a half sucked (we determined), cough drop. Cherry flavor. And unfortunately, the guest did discover the cough drop because he had it in his mouth. Upon spitting it out and realizing, with disgust, that a sucked cough drop (cherry) had somehow ended up in his meal, a manager was called to the table. I’ll skip the dramatics, mostly because we are not even too mad anymore because of how well the situation was handled. Complete ownership of the cough drop was taken, and the staff was incredibly apologetic. Our entire meal was covered, dessert was provided and a gift card was given. Truly this could be a very awful review, considering the circumstances of finding a (cherry) cough drop in the shrimp and grits- but we all appreciated the staff so much- I feel a 3/5 star rating is appropriate. Anyways, otherwise a nice time with good ambience. Maybe just don’t order anything too viscous that could hide an unassuming treat.

I have been here several times always consistently good. I especially like the meatloaf, I order different every time and everything has been very good. They put the time and effort into making good stuff and for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend.

This place has a great atmosphere and the staff is wonderful. We were just driving through Richmond and decided to stop here for a bite. My husband had the brisket sandwich which he said was fantastic. I had the trainwrek that was so large and outstanding I couldn’t finish it and have leftovers. The food is fresh and has exquisite flavor! If I’m ever in Richmond again I will be returning.
