My wife and I stopped by for a late dinner the other night after the InLight exhibit in the area. I had heard good things, and they were well founded. The staff was gracious and attentive - offering honest input about dish choices. The food was fantastic and the vibe was spot on - very southern funk inspired (in my opinion).
This will definitely be on the list of downtown options for us moving forward.

Hey y'all restaurant employee here. A tremendous exp at sweet P's. I mean I had the burger and was perfect to temp and char. Hand cut fries. Chefs got more skills than they're letting on. Must explore menu. Scallops. Yum. The vibe is almost as chill as the Pear Drop martini our bartender Madi conjured up for my beautiful date. 10/10 would recommend.

Have been here 3 times. The first time was so good, we were excited to try it again. The second time, serious missteps, including improper cooks that were not rectified because it took so long for the server to come back and check after the food drop. I still would have re-fired the meal despite my companion's insistence that she was fine, and sent it home with her. (She just didn't eat it.)

We went last night hoping the magic of the first visit would reappear and that we would choose this restaurant for our corporate holiday meal. Service was so inexcusably bad, I was truly shocked. We watched our server spend a solid 10 minutes chatting up a table while we waited to put in our food order. Our drinks took 30 full minutes, and my daughter's unbalanced mocktail came several minutes after my husband's and my drinks. The bartender stopped at our table to tell us she was sorry for the wait about 20 minutes in, but still took another 10+ to produce the drinks. I worked Hell well for a 300 seat restaurant by myself snd never had worse than a 12 minute ticket, so this was just absurd to me. No hustle to be seen here.

When the bill came, I noted that my daughter's mocktail was twice the price of a glass of wine, so that felt ridiculous. What was more ridiculous was that the 30-minute round of drinks was even on the bill. You screw up that bad, you comp it. Or offer free dessert, something.

Food was also much less impressive. My daughter and I both got the chicken. I thought it was ok, she couldn't eat it. The breast was dry and maybe a bit woody and the whole dish was spicier than we would have expected based on the menu. She left all but a slice and ordered popcorn at the theater.

Seems like a decent chef with some really terrible FOH skills. Our first visit was lunch and we were the only table, so I guess you can't give bad service in that case unless you really try. They just don't have dinner chops yet.

We are in town for a wedding with our large extended family. 12 of us showed up at 2 PM on a Thursday. Owner took excellent care of us and we wanted for nothing. It was fantastic. I sent our cousins there for lunch the next day. We might even go for brunch tomorrow. Also, the soundtrack was on point. Whitney, Brandy and Monica, Marvin. 100% delightful. Thank you!

I have traveled to 40 states and 6 countries and Sweet P’s RVA is a treasure, a true destination restaurant and an absolute must when you’re in Richmond. Located just a few blocks from the Graduate Hotel (and within walking distance of several other hotels), this spot delivers an unforgettable dining experience.

The menu is outstanding, and the staff is warm, engaging, and genuinely passionate about making every guest feel welcome. Chef/Owner Antonio’s dedication to his craft shines through in every bite.

Highlights from our visit:

Brussels Sprouts – fresh, perfectly cooked, with a honey and pepper flake finish that was simply WOW.

The Burger – best in class. Fresh meat, a sweet roll, and a secret sauce that ties it all together beautifully.

Short Rib – exceptional, melt-in-your-mouth, and bursting with flavor.

We also had the chance to chat with Antonio for several minutes, a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) graduate, whose story and passion are just as inspiring as his food.

When in or near Richmond, make sure Sweet P’s RVA is on your list. You’ll leave already planning your next visit.

Oh, and very reasonable prices only made even better!

This is a cute spot! Parking can be a headache due to the location.

I made reservations at 1:30p for Sunday. I lucked out and was able to do street parking.

The atmosphere : I loved! The playlist was versatile and perfect for a Sunday.

I did the $25 mimosa deal and the breakfast plate. The food was okay.

Prices were decent !

The young lady that worked our table was great! Very attentive and followed up.

They do automatically add 20% in gratuity .

It was brunch time. We opted for mocktails- 10/10. We ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer which was enough to share for a table of 4. They delicious the perfect amount of heat and sweet! Crab cakes Benedict with the home style potatoes were excellent. I got the crab cake sandwich. It was great, but I think the bun overwhelmed the crabcake. I took off the bun and fries were good, but (brunch homestyle potatoes were better). I would definitely return. Vibes are chill there.
