1st visit to Tarrant's and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Our server was great, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We both ordered cocktails and shared a bottle of wine. Bartender did a great job and wine selection was a hit Our meal was not my favorite only due to the fact it was “over sauced”. It was my favorite fish - rockfish, so it was disappointing but not awful. We will definitely return.

After many pleasurable visits this one was disappointing. She crabby soup very thin, watery. Shrimp/grits also soupy. Seemed like milk was added, or grits not prepared correctly.

The food is delicious. A little heavier American cuisine, mostly. It's a nice, cozy place with a classic feel.

We had an amazing experience at Tarrant's for brunch. Food was so delicious and cooked to order perfectly. Drinks were delicious. Our server was friendly and engaging and went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable.

Our waiter was busy with a large party but still kept and eye on us. Our drinks were always ordered and/or refilled. He was friendly.

Brunch (and coffee) was so bad. Even the coffee was not good. The bacon quality was a pitiful. Terribly disappointed in this restaurant. Wish we had chosen literally any other restaurant.

A well loved place with real Richmond character. Something to please all and charming service!

Stopped in for restaurant week. The food was good. My wife had to send her steak back as it was considerably overcooked but they remedied the problem quickly and were very apologetic. Drinks were good as well. Highlight of the evening was the great service provided by Nadia, our server. We look forward to returning soon.

We went there for restaurant week but upon arrival were informed the time is at 4 PM. It would be helpful in the future if this is made clear in the website or advertisment. The staff were incredible though and helpful. We appreciate the service. The sirloin I ordered however was incredibly salty. In fact a lot of the sauces for pur food had too much salt. If not for that, I'd rate it higher.

Great experience! Delicious food and very friendly staff. We also loved our wine choice! Cannot recommend more :)

We arrived early in the evening and there were only a few tables seated, but the drinks we ordered took way too long to arrive. Our appetizer was served, and we were nearly finish with them before our cocktail order ever came. Also the portions of the meal were very small. And of the two deserts we ordered one was huge one was tiny. Our second round of drinks also took a very long to arrive. Service was poor and we had to ask for dishes we were finished with to be removed when she could have taken them with her when she was there. She never asked us how the food was or if we needed anything, more like she wanted to rush us through. The attitude of the server seemed like she did not want to be there. The wall and finish of the booth we sat in were very run down looking, and not in a charming way, more like they didn't care to make repairs or keep things looking maintained. Would not go back.

Our server was very pleasant, positive, though he appeared to be a bit new to the trade and was not the best at remembering (or capturing) orders or drinks or understanding the menus. He was tipped very well and I think with some additional time in service he will do just fine! Food was fantastic, wine offerings were pretty limited, ambiance was great.

The food & drinks were great, the prices reasonable. The atmosphere is always comfotable, and our server (Courtney) was friendly and attentive.

I’ve always chosen Tarants downtown as a great place all around. This time - I had slow (very slow service) food was sub-par and prices including the new food tax was exorbitant. Disappointed. Embarrassed to being a friend who traveled a long time to play at CCV then to have this experience.
