fantastic brewery with amazing food and a cool vibe. I forgot to take a picture of the banh mi because I ate it too fast, but high quality. fried dumplings were crispy and savory. wake n shrimp rice bowl hit the spot. I'm a stout head and they did not disappoint. took 2 visits to try it all. they have guest taps from Perennial and Prarie, 2 of my favorite breweries, but their own stouts managed to even top those. I had never heard of this place before this weekend but they belong on a short list of the best breweries in the US. if this place was near my home I would be here at least weekly.

Amazing beer and great food. Servers were clearly upset for some reason. It was a slow Sunday but there was something going on with them. They still provided decent service. Answer is a legend for the beer and it’s been going for so long. I had the bahn mi sandwich and it was great. Draft and food prices are reasonable. If I lived in the area, I’d be coming here a couple times a week.

If you’ve never been to The Answer Brewpub in Henrico, Virginia, let me help you understand what’s going on here: Imagine if a mad scientist, a Vietnamese guru, and a wizard of craft beer all opened a restaurant together — and then surprise! They’re all the same person. His name is An Bui, and he is a legend.
An is the kind of guy who will hand you a beer so good it makes you reconsider every life choice that didn’t end in drinking that beer sooner. Then he’ll probably smile, say something charming, and float away into the back like some kind of suds-slinging beer genie.
Let’s talk food. The wake and bake? Crispy like it was deep-fried by Thor himself. Sells? They will slap your tastebuds and hug your soul. I blacked out halfway through eating and woke up crying tears of joy into a bowl of leftover rice. The banh mi? It should be illegal to be this flavorful outside of Vietnam.
And the beer list? It’s like An looked at the periodic table and decided it wasn’t funky enough, so he brewed his own elements. There’s always some wild new IPA or imperial pastry stout on tap with a name like “Galaxy Flavored Unicorn Elbow” or “Hops Don’t Lie” and it somehow works every time.
Service? Top tier. The staff is friendly, fast, and somehow always knows when you’re about to run out of beer like they’re beer psychics. You’re not a customer here, you’re family. but the kind of family everyone actually likes.
In conclusion: if you haven’t been to The Answer, you’re asking the wrong questions. Get in your car, hop on a unicycle, ride a llama, whatever it takes. Just get there. And when you meet An, tell him you’re there for enlightenment… and wings. 🥢🍺🔥

Tried the lamb curry.... must say in all of my travels, I've never had anything like it..... fatty and dry. Very disappointed. The beer fight was just okay, but the food was overpowering for the rest of the evening. Will not try anything again.

The Answer Brewpub, located on W Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia, is a great spot for a drink + a solid meal in the neighborhood. My boyfriend & I recently popped-by for dinner while road-tripping through this part of VA, and I'm so glad we found this place!! The atmosphere inside of this brewery is cozy + comfortable, and the environment is very relaxed. The staff are very kind and helpful - they took great care of us during our stay!! For food, I highly recommend their Beyond Smash Burger (I love that they feature so many meat alternatives throughout their menu). This is a great spot!!
First time visiting The Answer after several years and the beer was still great, the service was good but the food was not at all what I remember. I ordered the pork dumplings and they were really under seasoned and lacking flavor. I also got the pork belly banh mi and while the pork belly was crispy, the whole thing was really under seasoned and lacking salt. Maybe it was just an off day but I was disappointed.

Great bar with a truly massive beer list but make sure to try one of their “joose” drinks theres nothing quite like them out there. Solid bar food too particularly the Mongolian fries and Korean chicken.
