Got the lunch gyro salad for $13.00 I was expecting more and more spring mix for the salad but it was mostly just head of lettuce it was okay and it was a medium size

Six of us enjoyed a delicious dinner last night. Baked spaghetti , moussaka, lemon mushroom chicken, saganaki, Greek salad, spaghetti and meatballs were all on point and the bread was fresh, crusty and served warm. Service was quick and professional. We enjoyed it so much, we plan to return next week.

Nice staff and great food. And they accommodated my love of onions by letting me replace the mushrooms in my dinner with onions.

Be forewarned! Do not eat here and definitely don't order takeout from The Crazy Greek! You won't know you've been scammed until you get home and unwrap your food. I have eaten 20+ different gyro sandwiches all across the US, EU, and even in Greece. From Astoria, NY (used to have the 2nd largest Greek population outside of Athens) to Chicago (Greek family owned restaurants like Hubs) to the glorious "Le Grec" doner sandwich stuffed with frites in Paris to the street cart in Athens to local Carytown Gyro in RVA... No matter what kind of gyro sandwich, they are usually stuffed FULL of savory lamb gyro meat, fresh onions, tomatoes, sometimes lettuce if requested, the pita bread brushed with a bit of olive oil, grilled and heated warm, and one can always smell the wonderful aroma exuding from the wrapped sandwich, awaking your taste buds and making you super hungry. Nope. Not this sad excuse of a gyro sandwich from The Crazy Greek, if you can even call it that. The owners and cook should be ashamed. The photos don't even do justice to what we got from our takeout order! Tiny wrapped sandwiches, smaller than a 6-inch sub, I kid you not, 2.5 inches in diameter. There were no good smells coming from our bag, and no wonder when you open the sandwich. No sight of any meat when you open the pita. Peeling back the veggies were a couple of cold, heated from frozen gyro meat triangles. I paid $9.00 for this tiny, skimpy sandwich that tasted cold like eating cardboard. The pita was stale. The tzatziki sauce was decent, but to complement an empty sham of gyro sandwich?! Even worse was the $14 Chef's Special. My son dug into what appeared to be microwave heated spaghetti melted with cheese and 2 meatballs, 2 slices of pepperoni, and 2 small slices of sausage. The spaghetti was cold in the center. And it is supposed to be OVEN BAKED! I am surprised this place has 4.4 stars Google reviews. I would give 0 stars if Yelp had the option. I'm shocked they are still in business! When we picked up, it looked dark and desolate. 4 seniors had just left the restaurant, and there were no other patrons. I wasted $60 for very little bland food, while my sons and husband are still hungry because the gyro sandwiches were barely kiddie size. The only reason we did takeout here tonight was because The Greek Taverna on Staples Mills was closed and my boys were craving gyros. Carytown Gyro was a 40 min wait and 20 min drive. I feel cheated. Never again! You would be crazy to go to The Crazy Greek! Top of all insults, they charged a 3.5% "Non-cash adjustment fee for all credit card payments" WTF! To the owners: go look at what your competitors are doing and improve your food! Times are tough, but come on! You cannot cut corners like that! Do you really want only unsuspecting customers who give you only one-time business, never coming back because of the food scam you served hidden in a takeout?

Really enjoyed the food here - I have been to most of the other Greek restaurants in RVA and this is my favorite. Best stuffed grape leaves BY FAR. Great prices & exactly what I'm looking for with Greek food. Definitely worth checking out

My fiance and I decided to stop here for lunch today. We did not anticipate how amazing the food and service would be. Everything was delicious and the owner brought us our pizza then talked to us about the authenticity of the recipe they use. Best pizza I ever had, seriously! My fiance had the steak and cheese and said it was also the best. The family atmosphere brought it full circle for me. We will definitely be back soon and often.

First time. Cozy dinner like, but was not impressed by the food. My entree came out lukewarm, the breaded zucchini was a little too greasy, the dolomite was less flavorfull than the ones I get at Costco. Nothing felt like something I would want to try again.

I had to give it one star just to add this review. When you search restaurants that deliver. This particular restaurant appears that it delivers as well. But….it does not. Save your time.

Disappointing. My order was extremely salty and was sent back. Even Greek salad was lacking. Bread was the best part of the meal. Service, however, was great!.
