The Pit and the Peel Rooftop

First of all had to wait for the woman taking orders to stop texting before she took my order. Then asked if I could get cream cheese tomato and egg on a sandwich. The woman rang it up as an egg cheese tomato with cream cheese and began to raise her voice at me and wave her hands when I was confused why I would need to pick a slice of cheese when I already said I just wanted cream cheese. Finally got that settled and I kid you not my sandwich has half a grape tomato on it as the only tomato (see photo). Then waited 17 min before letting them know I was still waiting on my latte when no one else was in the store and they just forgot to make it because they were talking and on their phones. Made it in literally 2 minutes after that.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! The House Bowl is AMAZING! I literally ordered it 5 times last week on Uber. It is better than ice cream. Literally. I do not eat sherbet, frozen yogurt, or anything else like it. If you are having an ice cream hankering….and you just want a healthier alternative this is it. Perfect temperature, excellent flavor, amazing consistency. Toppings are just *chef’s kiss*. Great portion for the price. Best açaí bowl in Richmond easily. Beach Bowl comes in at a close second. Would eat the House Bowl every. single. day if I could. It’s that good.

I really wanted to like this place, the concept seems good. I was stopping in to get a smoothie after a 40 mile bike ride. I'm not sure how you mess up a smoothie but I had a bad one. It was chunky and watered down.

I go here with Elevate all the time because it’s the only place with coffee and breakfast sandwiches but they always mess my order up and make me wait 40 minutes to get my messed up order. Yall are scamming and ruin my day every time

I got the buffalo chicken wrap and a peanut butter cup smoothie delivered from an app. It arrived totally sealed. The smoothie is delicious. Some of the ingredients were solid on the sides or bottom, but I didn’t mind. Problem lies with the buffalo wrap. I open the sealed bag, take my to go box out, open it, and they GOT me. They threw every microscopic crumb they had all over my box and decided that was my side of chips. I had 4 chips that were larger than a quarter, none of them were whole chips. I then moved my wrap and saw a hair in the corner of my tray where my wrap was touching. Then I pick up the wrap, because I’ll excuse a hair sometimes, and see what *looks like* mouse poop laying under it. It could of course be a burned something? But nothing else in the wrap looks like that. Really wish I didn’t spend $25 (not including tax&tips on app) on this. It was a triple whammy with the chips, hair, and suspicious black thing.

Every time I come to the VCU location they are on the ball, outgoing and very friendly-bubbly personalities from Lana and Katy!!

Lovely juice shop and restaurant. Very clean inside and out. The drinks were very refreshing and tasty! Jay was exceptional and went above and beyond to make our experience delightful. Will definitely be back!

I love this place, but it hasn't stayed the same. First, it's July 3rd and I showed up at 7:10p and the store was closed. I get it, holiday, but please update your hours on your Google business page so I know because I drove from Southside just for a house bowl. I love the house bowl and their bowl portions and ingredients are great! But, the food menu has really gone downhill over the years. Less and less is offered. I LOVED the Vegan Quesadilla, now it's gone. Then I loved the Buffalo chicken panini -- now its gone. Please bring back your food items and be mindful of updating your Google hours on holidays!!

Came twice and both times the food was great. Recommend midnight bowl. Service is under par. No one seems happy to work here.

Walked in to order and the girl behind the counter was very loudly gossiping and using profane language. It was distracting and I couldn't even focus on what I was trying to order. The rooftop was closed which is why we chose to come here in the first place so we took our food to go because I refused to sit there and listen to her rant about whatever else for the entirety of my lunch. Very unprofessional.

Fortunately I did not bring my children or I would have had to address her language directly.

I asked for no croutons and the guy took my salad back and picked them out by hand. Only had cheese lettuce and tomato in my P and P salad. The Caesar we ordered had Italian dressing. Service was slow and the name is rooftop and the rooftop wasn’t open. The cashier let us know it was the cooks first day and they were the only two there on a busy Saturday. Staff better and maybe train your cooks so they know their menu. Way too expensive for what we received.

Understocked, understaffed, and the smoothies are just 80% ice.
