Service and atmosphere was good but the food itself was priced as much as other Thai places, if not more and their portions were half of other Thai places. Anyway, one of the items I ordered was the papaya salad which comes with shrimp and is priced like an entree, well, comes with 2 pieces of pre-cooked shrimp, I'm talking about the tiny shrimps, less than an inch.
Thai food is supposed to be aromatic and flavorful with generous portions.
Furthermore, after eating the papaya salad, me and my spouse we both threw up at home in less than an hour. It is unacceptable to serve this quality and quantity of food for charging a premium.
I do not recommend this place for the above reasons and I'm not very picky, eat at your own discretion.

This is my go to place for Thai takeout (they have a nice dining area as well). Vegan options clearly labeled, there is a vegan menu also available.
Food is in small single serving but priced like family size with additional charges when you choose shrimp instead of chicken. I have been to many Thai restaurants, their TomYum soup is not that authentic taste. It’s just sweet and salty. Service is great because they will already include an 18% mandatory gratuity charge on your bill. Place is clean but as soon as we got in I can smell the restroom. Not coming back to this place.

Their Pad Thai chicken (extra chicken and. O peanuts !) is my all-time favorite, and I’ve worked my way through all six spice levels over the years. They offer a range from American mild, medium, and hot—then step it up with Thai mild, medium, and hot. I usually go with Thai spicy medium, which brings the perfect kick without overwhelming the dish’s flavor.
Another standout is their curry chicken with yellow sauce—rich, comforting, and a great change of pace when I want something different. And let’s not forget the crispy spring rolls—every time we’ve ordered them, they’ve hit the mark.
My wife and kids order different dishes than I do, and while I can’t speak to what they eat, I can tell you they always leave happy.
If you’re craving authentic Thai food with consistent quality and flavor, Tip Thai never misses.

Tip Thai is truly a local gem! It’s family owned and the food always comes out so delicious and fresh! I’m absolutely convinced they have the best chicken wings in Richmond. The drunken noodles and curries are also amazing - you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!
