I went to this tropical smoothie, and I think they had my peanut butter cup on the counter before my credit card transaction went through.

The location off Nuckols Road is not as convenient for me, but, worth the drive. Go there if you can.

However, my recent visit to this location (Short Pump) raised several concerns:

1. The food preparation area appeared very unsanitary.
2. The ice tank had visible dirt around the upper interior, and the ice seemed to be melting.
3. One employee was working in a hoodie, which felt unprofessional and concerning for food service.
4. Overall food safety practices appeared questionable.

This was my second visit, and unfortunately, it will be my last. I am not someone who typically complains, but in this case, I did not feel safe consuming the food. I accepted the order but discarded it immediately, as it did not seem worth the risk. My previous visit nearly a year ago resulted in similar concerns, which is disappointing to see still unresolved.

This location owner should lose the right to serve as a franchisee.

I came in today around lunch & there were 3 girls & a guy working. One of the girls, the one with the septum piercing (all three had the regular nose piercing) had THE worst attitude. She was yelling at the guy working the cash register, b/c he asked a question & continued to yell at him about other things as well as speak about him, to the other two girls, when he stepped in the kitchen. The other two girls were pleasant enough, but the other girl was absolutely foul. Another customer said she goes there often & said she is always like that. I told her I try not to ever go to that location b/c it's always dirty & the customer service is always less than. She agreed. But I've never encountered someone in there as rude as the one today. She definitely should not be on the front line!

Many of the pictures that are posted are not of this place. This place seemed crowded with not many people in it. It was disgusting inside, especially behind the counter. The people were disorganized, took a long time to take people's orders and they all seemed angry/aggravated for having to do their jobs.

The restaurant is very dirty. There were flies everywhere and the area behind the counter looked like I hadn’t been cleaned in weeks.

My last visit, I was paying attention to the staff making my order as the time before I got all the way home with my order to find both my sandwich and smoothie made wrong. (Chicken when I ordered turkey, flatbread instead of sandwich.) This time I witnessed several staff giggling about messing up orders, not knowing which smoothie is which after making, and whispering about not wanting to remake them, and just putting them on the to-go shelf area anyway. Staff moves incredibly slow, food is messily made, and I also saw an employee stop and text for a full 5 minutes right in front of all customers when there were SEVERAL people not only waiting for their order to be taken, but waiting on their food to be made. 0/10

As soon as I walked in it smelled so bad. The kitchen looked dirty and unkept. The employees weren’t friendly but the smoothie was made quick. This place was so dirty. There were soda bottles on display that looked like they had been there for years, the Coca Cola looked like iced tea. Maybe just throw it out? Bathrooms also dirty. Wasn’t a good experience

The person working the cash register is beyond rude. I watched her roll her eyes at the customer in front of us who was not being rude, I think she just asked a question. The last time I came to this location there was another woman who was also working the register who was equally rude. Is this the best you can do? Is it that hard to just find nice people? Do better Tropical Smoothie!

Disappointed! The island green is my favourite smoothie which I order almost everyday. Well today I ordered through door dash and when the smoothie arrived it had pieces of broccoli and kale in it, not blended well at all. So I left work and went to this location to request another one. The young lady at the counter was very nice and she made me another one. On my way back to work I took a sip of the smoothie and it was awful!! It had an overwhelming taste of lime and the texture was so thick. Lime isn’t one of the ingredients for Island Greens. I’m done with this Location. If you want consistency and a really good smoothie go to: 8207 West Broad they make the best!

I have been to several Tropical Smoothie locations in the Richmond area and this one is probably the worst I have visited. We came in on Sunday afternoon and purchased a small chocolate mocha smoothie. The smoothie was pretty much like a shaved ice. There was not much liquid to drink. When I ordered, the guy taking the order said I couldn’t pay with a twenty dollar bill. So I used my credit card and it appeared a tip was imposed of either 10 or 15%. I shouldn’t have to tip someone for doing their job to just make a smoothie. I tried to decline the tip but the screen did not let me. I will never come back to this location. The man making the smoothie appeared to be angry at something and did use profanity. I do not want to hear profanity. I am really surprised that a business owner would allow that especially in a high end shopping area like Short Pump.

I ordered the Chia Banana Boost smoothie, as I always do at every TSC. It was so bland. I have ordered the same smoothie in 4 different states at over 20 locations. This was by far the worst. Sometime they don’t blend it well, it isn’t quite as rich. This time, it tasted light ice and water with a little flavor added. It was bizarre! I don’t know what they did with my drink, but I will not return to this location.

AS A COMPANY THAT IS INTO FOOD SRVICES, YOU PEOPLE ARE DISGUSTING!!. THE DIFFERENT TIMES I HAVE ORDERED DRINKS FROM DOOR DASH, IT NEVER COMES SEALED AT THE TOP. I HAVE WATCHED THE DOOR DASHER TALKING OVER MY DRINK. THIS IS HOW PEOPLE GET DISEASES. WHEN PEOPLE ORDER SMOOTHIES FROM YOU, PLEASE SEAL THE TOP OPENING WHERE THE STRAW GOES IN. IT IS DISGUSTING!!!! PLEASE DO BETTER.
