Place was cute. Was extremely loud and overcrowded for how small the place is. Put it this way. It’s so small that our bar top table was literally right on top of a fire exit door right before the kitchen. We orders a few apps that were good. Our main course was the roasted chicken that was great and the linguine clams which was too buttery and lacked flavor. Usually you can taste the wine and garlic but I could only taste the butter. Definitely cute for a date night here and there but i probably won’t be back for a while.
the service was top tier, delicious flavorful entrees, and intriguing atmosphere

A very disappointed meal at Uliveto. We reserved a table for 6 in the Susana room for a retirement dinner for my wife with my children. They first gave away our table even though we were there 10 minutes before our reservation. Then my wife’s meal did not get delivered to the table until the rest of our party had finished their main course. Overall, it was a poor experience and while the food was decent the service was horrible.

We’ve been to this restaurant 3x since moving to Richmond last year. Every time the experience is exceptional and it’s quickly become our favorite restaurant. We’ve always had exceptional cocktails and we thoroughly enjoy the pesto specialties, the wide array of protein appetizers are always delicious, and the seafood dishes are exceptional. On our second visit we brought our parents and at then end of our visit the front of house staff kindly helped my handicapped father with an umbrella to our car due to the storm that arrived at the conclusion of our dinner. This 3rd visit we sat at the bar for a cocktail and appetizer then grabbed our favorite pasta entrees to go to host our family and the bartender was incredibly helpful when we were looking to get entrees for the whole family - children included. Would recommend this spot time and time again!

This review is for the Susannah's Room. Do not reserve this dumpy space for more than 10 people. We had 24 (supposedly accommodates 30 I think) and it was WAY too many. The space is tiny, loud, and extremely inefficient for service. The servers were great. They did the best they could, but this room should not exist. Food was fine, but nothing to write home about.

First visit to this restaurant, and it definitely won’t be my last. The only real downside is the parking—but if you can Uber, it’s not an issue at all. The restaurant is tucked into a neighborhood and has a very cozy, intimate feel. The indoor space is small and quaint, with a patio available, though it was too cold to enjoy during our visit.
Our server was excellent—very knowledgeable about both the menu and the available spirits and wines. We started with the mussels as an appetizer, and they were plentiful and flavorful. For my entrée, I chose the pistachio linguine, and the portion size was generous—almost shareable. It was incredibly tasty and very filling; I only made it through about a quarter of the dish and happily took the rest home.
So many other menu items caught my eye that I’ll definitely be back to try more. This is absolutely a place worth checking out.

The food was kind of bland. I ordered the clams in white sauce and it was devoid of any flavor. The waitress just brought out some pepper sauce and said just add this. I wanted to try something else but it wasn't an option. My wife and daughter had basically the same experience but thiers were somewhat better. We won't be returning. Also this isn't my first review.

Amazing food. Like that’s all I need to say. Everything else was amazing , vibes, service. But the food is by far worth hyping. The tables are quite tight, but it fits the vibe and they have other seating options that I’m sure you can reserve if you call.

Our experience at Uliveto was terrible from start to finish. When we walked in, the host literally shut the door on us. Once seated at the bar, it took the bartender a solid 10 minutes to even acknowledge us.
We ordered the bruschetta, which was nothing but tomatoes. When I asked for more bread to go with it, she brought the standard table bread—not the bread that actually pairs with bruschetta.
For our entrée, we ordered the Ragu Veal. It arrived after a 35-minute wait, and it was room temperature at best—cold in the middle. To make matters worse, two couples who came in 20 minutes after us received their piping hot food at the same time we did.
Throughout the meal, the bartender ignored us. She only asked how our food was after we had finished eating. I told her it was cold, but we ate it because we were hungry.
The food was disappointing, but the service was even worse. We would not go back.

Uliveto is now my go-to restaurant - whether it’s just dining casually or when I have guests visiting. First and foremost, the ingredients are fresh and high-quality with beautiful, artistic plating. Second, there is an abundance of well-trained staff presenting the meal to you with what seems like within seconds - and constantly there to refill water, etc. Outdoor seating is available when the weather is good, and it’s probably good to make reservations during busy dinner times. After having several disappointing meals at Stella’s, I’m glad to call Uliveto #1 now!
