Not my thing. I am dissatisfied with their portion to price ratio, their food tastes fine but there hasn’t been anything special that stood out to me, and the atmosphere was very cute. I’m specifically disappointed because when you purchase a Ruben sandwich for $14 you expect enough meat to at least fill you up. I wish we would’ve taken a photo but there was hardly any meat on this sandwich (it was paper thin, and every corner bite was ALL bread), much more bread than meat.
The salad we bought was also over priced. The taste was nice, but the portion of protein was so tiny.

The person working the to go counter/behind the bar is extremely unfriendly. Waited over 30 minutes to get one to-go sandwich.

I had a really awesome build-your-own everything bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon, pickled onions, and fresh tomatoes. I look forward to going back and trying more items on the menu. I’ll go back to shop the market in the future.

I’ve been coming to this place for years. The majority of the people there are pleasant and we greet each other with great energy. There’s this one lady that I’ve noticed over the past year or so that has this nasty attitude and not sure if it’s a color thing or not. Every time she’s the server behind the bar and/or working the to-go window, I cringe at talking to her. Just recently, I ordered food online during my lunch break around 11:30 AM and went to pick up. I ring the to-go bell and she opens the window, not even a hello or to lower to say hi (window is slightly higher). Just shoves the food through the window. I asked “can you place my food in the bag please?” She takes a bag, and SHOVES it through the window while I’m handing her my food to bag it. She then says “I’m giving you a bag.” Real snobbish. I frown at how’s she acting and she mocks me by frowning too as if to say “what’s your problem?” Always been to this place, after work, during work, on days off, even shopping in the store/bodega to buy little nick nacks. This has always been my place because of the vibes. That was TOTAL disrespect in my opinion.

Union Market is a great lunch spot! I’m a big fan of the indoor/outdoor dining, and the neighborhood market feel. The vegan club sandwich was fantastic, but I will always be a fries over chips gal. Richmond restaurants lack parking lots, so it can be tough to find decent parking. I would return, and I am interested in trying other menu items and drink options!

Very sweet spot. Drove in through town. Got some Sandwiches and soups. They also had a solid beer section.
What a hidden gem! Great patio dining experience. I had the French Dip sandwich, and I have to say that it is the best that I've ever had! The bread was crisp, not hard, and the inside was soft.

A market with beer, wine, and lots of other beverage choices, snacks, and more is on one side. The other side is an indoor/outdoor bar and restaurant with excellent sandwiches, soups, salads and even breakfast. The outdoor area is well-mannered dog friendly with water bowls available.

Cute sandwich shop with outdoor and indoor seating. Coffee, beer and wine is available. Great for lunch, an early dinner, or a meeting with friends. I got two sides because I just couldn't chose! One was the days special a vegan Cajun red beans and rice and the other was their white bean artichoke and arugula salad. The Cajun beans were spicy just as one would expect! The salad was refreshing and lemony. Perfect for the warmer weather. I'd love to visit this spot again. Great selection and great prices . The service was swift as well!

I just had the turkey banh mi and it was beyond amazing!!! Happy I switched up my regular order. Union Market delivers every time! Always my recommendation for out of town guests.
