I stayed here for a week with work and I found the Bar Restaurant to be perfectly fine. Staff very pleasant and professional. I had either the Caesar Salad with Chicken or Byrd Park Burger with Fries and no complaints. IPA beers also nice. It lacks atmosphere but that's understandable. I was quite happy in my own company after long day at work watching the Basketball on big screen.
Service was great. Loved the "porch" area. I was disappointed that the breakfast potatoes weren't gluten free. They are listed as such on the menu, but they are fried in a shared fryer, so they are not gluten free. I ordered the grits instead, which tasted really weird. I couldn't pinpoint the spice they used. Just stick with salt and butter.
I find that hotel restaurants generally are just satisfactory but this restaurant is the exception. It was an overall outstanding dining experience. It is located in an atrium and beautifully decorated in a farmhouse or French countryside setting and one's feels instantly comforted by the ambience. Even the cloth napkins are soft and cozy.
