Myself and my friend got the bone-in ribeye entree with the fingerling potatoes, asparagus, and the charcuterie plate appetizer. We were beyond satisfied with our entire meal. The steak was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was very pleasant and funny. All around 10/10. Will be returning.

The decor and furniture were what I was expecting. The butter were wrapped pads instead of in a dish. My steak was over seasoned and not as good a cut as available from Kroger. It was not a bad experience, but it did not meet my expectations.

Excellent food, service was not at the Hotels usual standard. We were told by our server there was no tea or coke. I was given one drink when I ordered but was not offered refills. Our table had to request after dinner coffee. Our server was pretty much nonexistent all night . We expected better service at that price point. As much as we enjoyed our meal ,our vivid memory of The Pine Room will be of the unacceptable degree service.

My guest and I ate at the Pine Room on Monday, December 29th. It was for lunch. And we had reservations. Everything went well, until our food was brought to us. We both ordered the Smokehouse Burger. We noticed that the bun was toasted. The issue began there. We both felt our hamburger buns were toasted to being burnt. We were going to ask about this, but unfortunately, there appeared to be only two staff members working with the guests that day, and one was also doubling as the Host, and seating guests. So, it was difficult to get a server's attention. We began eating. Normally I have wonderful things to say about The Hotel Roanoke, it's staff, service and food. I CAN say that our server was doing a wonderful job, considering he was doing the job of more than one person. Unfortunately, I MUST be a little critical of The Hotel Roanoke for not properly staffing for what was a very busy Pine Room, during the Holiday season, and for not having staff on hand that would recognize quality control issues with the burnt hamburger buns. My guest removed her bun so she could actually taste the burger. Further evidence that they were understaffed came later. Our reservation was at 12:30. We were done eating by 1:30. We didn't receive our check until just after 2:00, and I had to remind our server. Many kudos to our server for making a challenging situation bearable. We tipped him nicely for his efforts. He was very deserving. He was extremely polite and were it not for him, our experience would have been even more disappointing. To The Hotel Roanoke......"You can do better with quality control and proper staffing! If all of those guests needed reservations, then you knew it was going to be crowded."

The food was wonderful, as always! The only thing that made the experience poor was our server. Service was not great, but I did see other servers being much more attentive. After talking to the house manager, she did not seem to care. But the kitchen was amazing!

We were here on Thanksgiving day and it was crowded, but the staff was on point and friendly even though it was crowded. I had the reuban sandwich and fries. Idk what they do to them fries, but man we're they good. That sandwich was awesome and the homemade thousand island sauce was incredible. Considering the location I thought it was reasonably priced. You will not be disappointed 😋

Bar needed more attention to detail. some mistakes as well as some unbalanced drinks. Server missed opportunities a few times for early table visits for drinks but service improved after the bar messed up.

Our lunch was an absolutely amazing experience. Love the Pine Room ... the food was excellent along with the atmosphere. A HUGE shoutout to Jaclyn who provided us friendly and exceptional service.

Well executed shrimp and grits. Pork shank with sweet potato, collard greens and apple compote were well prepared but served on too small a bowl, resulting in everything running together. Fruit tart could have been baked a touch longer, but a more than generous serving. Coffee was terrible and served with small plastic containers of coffee mate creamer.

Our particular seating was somewhat claustrophobic, small table against wall. We had a series of appetizers as small plate Kimchi tacos were great the rest was nothing special. Cocktails were very good.. Our server was very friendly but checked on us a bit much giving us the feeling that we were being rushed out even though there were plenty of open seats. Definitely could do better.

It was busy when we arrived & loud. Waitstaff seemed "frazzled" trying to serve tables. Manager kept coming by to check in on tables as there were some complaints from nearby diners. The restaurant some cleared out of the large parties & it was less noisy. Food & drinks delicious. Our service was just reservation, had to keep asking for water refills. We put on the reservation it was our anniversary but that was never acknowledged & nothing special done, treated just like any other diner. Overall, it was just an ok dining experience, I expected higher standards from The Roanoke hotel

Delicious food, fabulous service..was a bit chilly so the server brought me a cup of hot water to drink which was perfect. Thank you!

Named for the year in which The Hotel Roanoke first opened its doors, 1882 delivers subtle hints of past lore through a collection of authentic pre-prohibition cocktails paired with modern-day mixology. A bespoke collection of draft brews include a special Hotel Roanoke pilsner as well as premium wines by the glass to complete the beverage experience. Whether small plates or a selection from the full menu, guests may partake in American Rustic cuisine from the adjacent Pine Room.

A wonderful place with great food and drinks. We highly recommend the cauliflower appetizer and the new pumpkin harvest salad. We always enjoy sitting on the patio too.
