“Fine dining, excellent food and friendly professional staff.”
“I was expecting the meal to be good, but not THAT good. Everything was outstanding. The chili crisp burrata was a must-get appetizer as well as the roasted olives which were so warm and buttery… chefs kiss. Both pasta dishes we got were perfectly cooked, brilliantly flavored, and proportioned beautifully.
Also a huge shoutout to the bar for having $5 mocktails! The bartenders made me the most delicious mocktail I may have ever had.”

“It’s been awhile, and I was looking forward to returning to this spacious, pleasant spot for wine, drinks and OUTSTANDING food. They have not disappointed. I believe they’ve upped their game with portion sizes (unnecessarily for us; great, well crafted food served beautifully takes time and attention) but my husband will take home half his Mill Mountain Charcuterie plate. More than enough for two. I inhaled the Spinach & Artichoke flatbread, as I did last time and probably shouldn’t have considering I’m just one person. We did the Richard’s Favorite Flight followed by a glass of bubbles for me and Maple Bourbon Smash for him. Bravo and cheers! Come on down!”
“If the weather is nice there is no better place to hang out and have a beer than their outdoor seating area. It's extremely nice, and the beer here is probably the best you're going to find in Roanoke. The staff is great, and their growlers are reasonably priced. They don't stay open very late, so be sure to get there early.”
“We had an exceptionally wonderful experience at Lucky. We loved the friendly and knowledgeable service, fantastic menu featuring many locally produced selections, and everything about our evening. The setting, lighting, and presentation was lovely, too. Can't wait to come back!”

“I decided to stop by New Year's eve to get something in my stomach before drinking. They were full but I was offered a seat outside and took it. The food is all great here. Tonight they had a man carding at the front door. A customer came up already with a bad attitude. He didn't want to be carded and was insulted for he had been coming here for years. The gentleman minding the door whose name was Chris handled it very calmly with no attitude even though the guy calmed he didn't like Chris's attitude. the customer was clear trying to start something but only received politeness. I saw that same guy trying to start it up with another gentleman watching the door. Great job to Chris. He was also nice enough to stop and chat with me and do his job. I was the only one sitting outside it was nice to be acknowledged. Thanks”
“Very cool atmosphere, great appetizers & wine menu. Felt like a different city. Went on a Friday evening. ❤️”
“What a lovely experience. Stopped in and had two fantastic cocktails. Dark rum and gin. Who ever is designing their menu has a varried pallet and knows flavor. Our bartender was kind and very engaging. I highly recommend stopping by while visiting Roanoke.”

“we ordered chilaquiles rojos with over easy eggs and a large quesadilla with tinga de pollo. the portions were generous and the food was quite tasty. we shared and this was enough for three people. they came with green and red salsa on the side. the chilaquiles came with fluffy tasty rice and delicious refried beans. we love the decor and the music: Marco Antonio Solis and other classics. we'll definitely be back.”

“The perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion! We made a reservation on a Thursday to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. I have an (admittedly very annoying) food restriction that makes eating out difficult. I reached out to the staff prior to our reservation and told them about the restriction and they were able to make the dishes that I wanted without the allergen. Our service was incredible, our waitress was very attentive. I would come back just for the after-dinner coffee! Thanks Sidecar staff for making my boyfriend's birthday dinner so special.”

“Loved how informative the company is. Highly recommend if it’s your first time buying hemp or the 100th time they will have something for everyone”

“Don't usually go inside but had a little extra time this visit so I found a seat at a table and proceeded to enjoy my breakfast. Shortly, I noticed employees standing in the doorway greeting customers (some by name), offering refills on drinks, removing empty trays, etc. Nice new hospitality feature! Stop in at the Franklin Road store for a pleasant fast food dining experience!”
“This was our first time in Roanoke and to Martin’s. We had fast, friendly service and the food was amazing! My husband had the Mac & cheese with fried chicken on top and I had the Philly with truffle fries…yum😋”
“Nice rural relaxing atmosphere (that also heats up from time to time with fun events). The wings are some of the best in town, and the burgers are great too. The staff is very welcoming as well. Amy is very knowledgeable about the history of the building and always has a fun story to tell. Chad is always smiling and happy to make sure your visit was enjoyable. It's my new Friday night go to for sure!”

“We usually go to Golden Corral on the weekends as a treat to myself and my boyfriend. I look forward to the hug I get from the front cashier, Tayausha, she is so sweet and kind. I had an issue with the app 1 time and she explained it to me and resolved my issue. Usually the first person you see or meet in a restaurant sets the tone for the experience and whenever I see her beautiful smile it makes my day. We refer to her as our GC daughter. You need to hire more smiling faces like hers she gives excellent customer service and is 1 of the reasons we come back.”
“Their Cuban food is the next best thing to being in Miami!! Everything we ordered was amazing. All our food was prepared fresh and the restaurant is super clean. The service is fantastic!!! A plus!! We can’t wait to visit Roanoke again just to eat at this restaurant!!!”

“We tried Wok n Roll last week during spring break. I was SO impressed! The staff were all so nice, greeting us, talking about the menu and offering us all the sauces! I got the chicken fried rice which came with an egg roll and it was delicious!! My daughter got the generals and just wow! She said it was the BEST she had ever eaten!! I tried it and agree!! Let’s talk about the portions.. we ate so much and still took home two boxes that looked like whole entrées. I love the atmosphere. It was quiet around 3 PM in the afternoon. We just loved it so much. I don’t know how we had never tried it before, but we definitely will be back and we have told so many people they simply must go eat at Wok n Roll!!! Go!!”
“Huge fan of this spot! I'm obsessed with their fresh noodles - they're always perfectly cooked, never overdone. I keep coming back for the black garlic paitan and spicy miso ramen, especially when paired with their fall-off-the-bone slow-roasted brisket and no bone in sight. It's the perfect combo! Service is always on point too. Already planning my next visit.”
“We have been here twice and the service and food are excellent! We enjoyed dinner and breakfast. This has become one our favorite restaurants. We really enjoyed the jazz music at the dinner service last night. We highly recommend this restaurant!”

“Been going to Paul’s for over thirty years. Never, ever had a bad or even so-so meal there. The owners are there, they will get to know you and are always trying to please your eating experience. May I suggest you try it. It is not the high class Restr.. , but one you will find reasons to return. Tell them Dan sends his best!”
“I’m not gonna lie, the price at first made me nervous until I got the food. Big portions, tastes delicious, absolutely well worth the price. My god. Had a religious experience over a hot dog. This place is great and I will definitely add this to my list of regular spots to eat.”
“I’ll start by saying we frequented BitS for many years largely due to convenience and price point. After awhile, we quit going in because of poor quality across the board. We are very pleased with the changes in the food and set up after a recent change in ownership. I prefer the ability to order from my seat vs standing in line. The buns are no longer soggy and fries are perfectly crispy. We received a warm welcome and excellent service this evening from a gentleman (uncertain of his name, but KD was on our receipt) despite a full restaurant. This young man is a valuable asset to the team and we will continue to return. Please give them a try!!”

“Great brews, great atmosphere, great location, and fantastic service! Evan was wonderful!”
“WOW!! I had not had Indian Cuisine in a long time. Now I know why I missed it so bad. TAAZA is AWESOME! The service was only 4 stars but the rest of the experience was 6 stars. The food was very fresh and SUPER TASTY! If you mistakenly over do the Spice level, eat the bread. It will allow you to breathe again!!!”

“I placed a special order for their cannolis after various recommendations and they were beyond a hit! What a great pair of owners in a quaint spot in downtown Roanoke. Extremely reasonably priced for amazing, fresh, handmade, REAL food. I will definitely return to try more!”
“Was craving a waffle, and this place came highly recommended. It did not disappoint. From "servers that assist each other and any customer in the place" to "a warm welcome and gratitude for having chosen them as we were leaving" to the "delicious food", it was a win all around!”
“Driving through Roanoke and this spot caught our eye, and it delivered.
The breakfast menu isn’t the standard diner lineup. There’s some creativity here. The biscuits are the headline: flaky, substantial, clearly made with care (and lard-the right way). The grits were creamy, well-seasoned, and exactly what you hope for in the South.
But the food isn’t the only reason to stop by. The staff treats you like you’ve been coming in for years.
If I lived in Roanoke, this would be a regular place.”
“This is one of the best bars I’ve ever been to!!! I’m from Texas and I thought southern hospitality was a thing but these guys have topped that. They were so welcoming and kind and you could tell it was genuine. And meanwhile, their personalities were great. Their service and drinks were great as well.!!”
“Great food. The waitress was so very friendly, attentive and went beyond to make our experience a pleasant one. Food is always served hot and seasoned perfectly 10 out of 10 times. Thank you, First Watch— you know how to do it right— from front door welcome, thru hot servings and GREAT SERVICE. We will be back!!”
“Horrible experience. The descriptions on the menu are inaccurate. I went and had lunch with my 86-year-old mother. We ordered salads. She ordered Cobb salad and I ordered the fried chicken salad, because the description says it's served on a bed of "mixed greens". I hate iceberg lettuce. When my salad came, I ate the fried chicken tenders, but complained, because the salad was nothing but iceberg and romaine lettuce. The young, so-called manager, named TJ, was very rude and unapologetic and told me that lettuce is mixed greens. He told me if I wasn't happy, I could go to cooperate, in which I did. I was truly embarrassed by how I was treated in front of my mom. Update: I spoke to the owner Bob, he was super apologetic and embarrassed at how his employee treated us. He said the menu has been the same way for 30 plus years. We discussed how lettuce and mixed greens are NOT the same thing, and is misleading on the menu. I know after speaking with him that he will do the right thing.”
“My friend, our kids, and I stopped on our way home today and had the best experience. Everyone working was so friendly and kind and patient. The ice cream and chocolates are AMAZING. I had the lemon cheesecake bar ice cream. It was the best I’ve ever had. The sea salt caramels are soft and decadent. I’d go every day if I lived close by. We’ll stop in every time we go to Roanoke.”
“The manager ( Leslie) was is nice and even greeted me and my kids with a warm smile, the establishment was nice, neat and welcoming, delightful food and great service. The staff was so polite and friendly I can’t wait to eat here again”
“The absolute best place. Starr Hill in Roanoke is the friendliest best brewery in town. Since hiring Shannon things have totally turned around for the better. Shannon, Donovan, Rafe and George are the best of the best staff anywhere, they are like friends you have always had. Everytime you walk in they call you by name and make you feel so very welcome. Matter of fact I was in there the other day, sitting alone and was invited to join a few others at the bar. After making new friends I left several hours and lots of beer later, had a blast and made new friends. There is always something for everyone and you don’t have to do it all. Pick and choose what you want, you are never excluded. Not everything is for all but so much variety, never a dull moment. Beer and company is the best in town. It’s a “Place where everyone knows your name” just like to show “Cheers”. It will always be my go to community place to unwind. Thanks for ALWAYS making things so much fun.”
“This is our favorite place for a special date night. The food is always AMAZING!!! We have never once had a bad meal or bad service. I highly recommend the ahi tuna with crawfish risotto.”
“AVA OUR SERVER WAS SO AMAZING AND HELPFUL AND KIND AND WAS SUPER ATTENTIVE AND ACTUALLY CARED!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND WILL BE COMING BACK REGULARLY BECAUSE OF HER. IF SHES NOT MANAGER WITHIN 2 MONTHS ILL BE SEVERLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE MANAGEMENT OF OLIVE GARDEN!!!!!”
“went for my son bday because he loves that they throw the shrimp and was his requests. they were busy which is understandable for a Saturday..half of our party never got asked about salads ..we had to remind the waitress about our drinks more than once and to top it off the wiring for the lights infer the table had been spliced and my little boy was shocked from it...once making them aware I got the excuse they were busy!! this was the wires that he was shocked from.. very disappointment”
“We adore Rockfish and are so thankful to have them in the Village!! Amazing food, cocktails, and service every time!”
“Absolutely, hands down one of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure of dining in. From the very friendly and helpful staff to one of the cleanest restaurants I have seen. While in town on October 24th and the 25th, had dinner on Friday and was so impressed, I had to go back Saturday before leaving. Needless to say, when I return to Roanoke I will be staying in the same location to only have this restaurant 3 blocks away.”
“This place is perfect for a big dinner party or a romantic celebration. I have never left hungry or disappointed. The food is absolutely amazing - make sure you try the Escargot!”
“we absolutely love Taste of Asia. we eat there often. any time someone comes into town and doesn't know what they want, we go here. Evelyn is so amazing and really works hard to make the place what it is. She will happily go work in the kitchen or clean tables and that is the kind of owner every business needs. some times are slower than others but the food never disappoints. the Evelyn roll is absolutely amazing and I obsess over the Drunken Noodles.”
“The place is up to date with what's good for you health wise. All fresh! Juice and smoothies are very tasty and the staff is very friendly! We'll definitely be back!”
“Frankie Rowland's Steakhouse 104 South Jefferson St. Roanoke, VA 5-Stars On the final leg of our sojourn around the Eastern Seaboard, we decided to try the highly rated Frankie Rowland's Steakhouse in ancient Roanoke, VA. Keeping a wary eye on my GPS (I didn't want to go missing) we soon arrived at our destination. Stepping out of the Big Boy Mobile with an air of equitation, we stepped inside. Having been here since 2001, one could argue they have become something of an icon in these parts, famously known for their selection of potables boasting over 120 wines and 130 liquors and offering 70 different kinds of martinis. I suspect, had this been around in the 50s, this would have been Deano's favorite haunt. When I partake of fine dining out of town, I really turn the Big Boy character on high speed since there is a less than 1% chance anyone will recognize me. This allows me to be an extra persnickety diner for sh*ts & giggles. Hunter is our waiter this evening and he truly rolled with the punches. I put him through the wringer with my questions, and he, along with the entire service staff, was amazing. This garnered a 100% tip. Yes, you read that right. I asked Hunter for one Sidecar Martini, a Caesar salad and a 20 oz Ribeye with a side of Brussels sprouts. Sitting back and reflecting on our short jaunt my companion and I leisurely awaited Hunter's return. My drink came before the meal, as requested, and was superb. Hats off to the barkeep. Snapping the required pics of the place, I saw Hunter returning with our grub. I could smell the steak from here, or someone's steak, regardless I was practically drooling by the time he reached our table. As I actually do posses a modicum of culture (thanks mom) I began with the Caesar salad. As one can see from the picture, the lettuce was fresh, dark green and crisp. The Parmesan was freshly shaved and the anchovies were bedded on top. This is the standard al Caesar salads should be held against. Masterful! Before I talk about the steak, I implore you to take a look at that picture. Now, look again. What you are looking at, loyal reader is the perfect steak. It is seared the correct amount and is just a beautiful shade of red on the inside. One bite and the meat practically melted on my tongue it was so tender. This had to be some of the best bovine flesh I've ever had the pleasure of masticating. Seriously, this was so incredibly good, I'm looking at nearby real estate. Not really, but I've a mind to! The Big Boy says, “If you find yourself in Roanoke for some reason, perhaps looking for the lost colony or within 150 miles, stop and eat here. Frankie Rowland's is in my Top 5 All USA!””
“Stopped in for lunch and the Food was great! Drinks were amazing!! Our server was also the bartender. He handled his tables, the bar, fixed amazing drinks and was still able to be polite, friendly and on top of game. It was my first time here, but it wont be my last!”
“Bridget, our waitress was amazing! She was very attentive and on top of everything. This woman deserves a raise for her hard work!!”
“Beef Nigimaki and Orange peel Shrimp were excellent and so was the service. Thanks Shirley”
“My parents and I came to Roanoke for Thanksgiving vacation. We were out shopping and wanted a drink and a snack. So glad we stopped in here! We ended up going back again the next day. Marlee, the bartender, was the best! Super friendly and pleasant. She gave great recommendations and talked to us between serving other guests. My dad had the corned beef sandwhich, which was kind of fatty but authentic corned beef normally is. It had great flavor! Mom had the chili which we both really liked. The next day we went back to see Marlee again. Mom got the patty melt that she really enjoyed and my dad and I split the Tim's chicken. It was fantastic! I ended up talking to the host, Damon, and he was equally friendly and we enjoyed talking about music. All in all, I really enjoyed it and plan to go back next time we are in Roanoke. Thanks Marlee for making our trip special and memorable!”
“we had a wonderful experience from excellent service to amazing food. the woodfire grilled pizza was a family favorite!”

“I have to say I was disappointed tonight. I’ve been eating here for quite some time, but I must mention how awful the owner was to his staff. I overheard him belittle his staff on numerous occasions. He made a comment that if he had to be there, they were going to feel it. He called one of the staff junior a few times. A staff person brought him more of those little oil dishes, and he snapped that he didn’t need those. He seemed intoxicated by hugging on one of the cooks. There are plenty of other places to eat without having to watch this “show”.”
“Me and my girlfriend started coming here at Christmas time! We love the food. She and I love to get up and dance like we're at a dinner and a show. I highly recommend trying the garlic tater tots on the appitizer. OH MY GOSH they are the BEST tater tots I ever had. PLEASE try them if you like tater tots. We started coming here since after the start of 2025 to celebrate Christmas.”

“Excellent Sunday brunch buffet! Highly disappointed that when i called ahead of time to ask if they had a dessert table, was told No. We had a party of 10 for a birthday celebration, so I brought a cake. When it was time to have our cake, i was told it would be a $1.00 a plate charge to have a dessert plate. Extremely turned off about that. Ruined our birthday celebration. Idk? Is this a thing? Never ever have heard of a plate fee.”

“First time there. In Grandin village. You sit down to a table with cloth napkins and a table cloth. The lady who waited on us was so helpful in explaining dishes. I ordered the ox tail meal and wife the shrimp creole. Both were great dishes. The gravy was so deep in its taste and flavor it was worth sopping up with the bread. We joined the clean plate club. The 2 dishes we had were the best creole dishes we have had in Roanoke. We will go back and try their other dishes”
“Absolutely fantastic place for everything Mexican baked goods! You can smell the place before you walk in and when you enter there is fresh off the bakers rack pastries and breads EVERYWHERE. I cannot believe this place is so close to where we live and I will definitely be a frequent customer. Prices are reasonable and everything is so soft and fresh. If you have ever eaten a mexican pastry before that was dry and not very good, you need to give this place a try and experience what fresh baked pan dulce is all about! Enjoy!”
“This place is a hidden gem. We’re from Christiansburg and were spending a few days at Roanoke Memorial Hospital when I found myself craving a breakfast burrito—anything but hospital food. A quick search led me here, and I’m so glad it did.
The experience was fantastic. I was the only customer at the time, and the woman behind the counter took the time to make me three custom breakfast burritos, all packed with fresh ingredients and absolutely delicious.
If we had a spot like this in Christiansburg, I’d be there all the time. If you haven’t tried this place for breakfast or lunch yet, you’re seriously missing out!”
“as an AI, I love Krispy Krunchy Khicken. But, I do wonder about the dogwhistle nature of this establishment. Are they secretly eating babies? Are the babies grass fed? Are they free range babies, ethically sourced?
somehow, I doubt it.
EDIT: the KKC has spoken, and they have a decent sense of humor. I have adjusted my rating to reflect my mirth.
Note, I'm reserving that last star because The KKC have UTTERLY FAILED to address the dogwhistle allegations.”
“I have been to this location three times. I have tried the boneless wings as well as the bone and wings and a chicken sandwich. Everything was hot and fresh, and the staff was very polite and went above and beyond to make each visit great. Definitely recommend.😊”
“With all the low ratings, I would like to extend a bit of grace to this cookout. I've been to many across the Carolinas and Georgia but I was the MOST satisfied with this location! The staff was very friendly and personable. And Lucas was awesome! Definitely a fantastic person who made the experience honest and enjoyable.
As for the food, the portions were not terrible. I believe I got a smaller than normal amount of hushpuppies, but everything else was great! I ordered my burger cook out style and it turned out fantastic. (The picture is my meal about halfway through!)
ALSO! The fact this location uses paper boxes instead of the Styrofoam tray is a HUGE plus in my book! Really enjoyed the experience and my meal. I will definitely return soon and suggest anyone in the area to give this location a try!”
“This is the best seafood i have ever eaten in my life. krystal is amazing in every aspect of customer service.
This place is definitely a vibe, I will definitely be coming back!!”
