This is a pre-prohibition style lager that was resurrected from an old recipe from the same era, with a corn grain base. It is ?.I also had the farmhouse saison, bc I'm a sucker for a good farmhouse ale and this one is top notch! You can taste the wild!Even the expectedly heavy, 8.5% Collusive Resistance comes across easy drinking and full of a variety of flavors.If you haven't been, go. If you're a regular, you know where the best beer in Roanoke is already.“
“Excellent brewery based bar.We did a flight of tasters (we selected 4 beers to buy you can have a flight of 6 if you want).Really excellent quality beers. Very wide range of tastes and flavours, ranging from very fruity, through traditional IPA, to delicious malted beers.You can also order food from the taco restaurant across the road (there are QR codes inside the bar to help you).Very highly recommended.“
“My wife and I planned our wedding from halfway across the country. The beer and wine selection at the reception was well received, thanks to the wonderful help from Eric and the other staff members at Barrel Chest Wine and Beer. Using our flavor and pricing inputs the Eric recommended a decent selection of wines and beer. We paid for it over the phone, and picked it up the day before the reception. Such a smooth operation from introduction to cherry goodbye as we drove away with the goods. Our only regret was that we didn't have enough time to go back and enjoy the rest their establishment: the spread of beer on tap, other canned and bottled brews and wines, etc etc.“
“We made our own brewery tour of Roanoke and had to visit Starr Hill. They have about 15 beers on tap and will let you try them before you commit to your full poor. The bartenders were super kind and patient as we tried several beers. I went for the Sun Burn summer ale and it is the PERFECT beer for sitting by the pool or on the boat probably getting more sunburned than you should. It's light and crisp and easy to drink! I really loved it! It's all I drank all evening. There's lots of tables and perfect for meeting friends or hanging out after work. They don't have food available l, but we were told it would be fine if we went next door grabbed Moe's and came back over. Definitely add this to your beer tour of Roanoke!“
“The market location is convenient and spacious. The tap selection is good (about 12 different selections on at our time of visit) ranging from fruited sours to stouts and including hard seltzer. We tried the Colorshow (fruited sour with blueberries) and Wicked Garden (standard IPA) and were pleased with both.“
“Such a surprise while walking around downtown Roanoke. My wife and I wanted to grab a quick drink before lunch and were so surprised at the quality and variety of ?? beers (order a flight to taste more options), the space which is huge indoors and out, and the fun staff. They have tons of outdoor patio seating perfect for large groups or pets, they also have light snacking food, and tons of ♿ handicap accessible seating and restrooms.“
“Have passed by this place a few times while downtown, but never gone in and was not disappointed! It's larger inside than expected with three floors of seating and has a few larger tables for bigger parties. All the food we got was good and came out fast. It was around 2 pm on a Saturday when we went and wasn't overly busy. We particularly liked the seating at the top because we had a good view of the City Market Plaza. They had a few TVs playing bearing sporting events if that's your thing, and had both alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices. We ordered the Craft Ginger Beer and lemonade and the Ginger Beer was good without being too spicy while on the other hand the lemonade was very tart. A little added sugar balanced it out, but the note is for those who like it that way. Prices were fair. Spent about $27 with Appetizer (Price split between two), Drink, and Food. Will eat here again! “Amazing eats!! Great beer flights teamed with a great selection of wine. Very fun atmosphere that doubles as romantic and let loose feeling. My only request would be to sub some of the barstools for regular seats. Otherwise, we will absolutely be back and had a great time.“
“Great beers, and mostly a quiet and chill atmosphere. Can get a bit rowdy when it’s warm out and they’re hosting live music. Great place to pre-game or stop in before heading out for a later night. Also a nice spot to hit after lunch around Vinton.Last time we visited “Get Glazed” donut truck was parked out back, awesome addition to our day drinking escapade.“
“I visited Parkway Brewing Co in Salem, VA on a Friday evening in October 2014. The place was lively with live music, delicious pizza, and great beer. Although the selection for takeout was somewhat limited, they had at least 8 different beers on tap. The facilities were impressive, with brewing equipment visible inside and a spacious patio outside. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would love to return.“
“Best craft brews in the area! For years now OSBC has been a fav of mine and we can honestly say we've never been let down. As sour lovers, we can say that OSBC has some of the best sours to offer and always has some on tap. Whatever your preference, you won't be let down. Very cozy environment that's open to dogs and kids too. For those who want entertainment, they also have a great weekly lineup of activities from trivia nights to local bands. Always a good time, never disappointed!“
“Blindhouse is a welcome change of scenery among Roanoke's brewery landscape. At last, a brewery that doesn't specialize in sours or IPAs. Every beer on the menu is easily drinkable, even for those who may not be huge beer fans.In addition to beer, they keep baked goods stocked from Wasena's Kind Baking Company. Food is served from a small kitchen, which either rotates chefs, menus, or both. Alternative non-beer and non-alcoholic beverages are available as well.“
