Alexander's has been a Roanoke gem for 46 years. There is no comparison to their delicious food, creative presentation, and impeccable service. Each and every diner is treated as a special guest.
This is a very nice dining experience. It is a bit pricey, but very. Once we were charged a $50 corkage fee, which I thought was very high! I had the shrimp and grits which was fabulouUber. friends had halibut which they said was excellent. The parking situation is not good, so we took an uber.
The food was absolutely fantastic, each dish prepared with remarkable attention to detail and flavor. Service was impeccable from start to finish: attentive without being intrusive, and every need was anticipated with ease. This is truly a place where fine dining is done right, and we left already looking forward to our next visit.
Consistently outstanding in every way, Alexander's is unmatched for a special occasion dinner. Never disappoints.
Wonderful experience! The food was very tasteful. There were four different dishes I would have liked to try. I chose the duck and I was happy. My husband was happy he chose the lamb.
This was our fourth visit and Alexander's never disappoints. The food, the service, and the ambience are all outstanding. On top of that, you can hear a conversation at the table, but not hear others. Wonderful place!
Me and my girlfriend dined here at Alexander's and we got the bbq shrimp appetizer, the lamb, the pork Milanese, and desert and all were fantastic. The ambiance was nice and intimate. The food was delicious and bursting with flavor and the service was attentive and swift. Will definitely visit again.
Alexander's is a one of kind restaurant where it's a pleasure eating there from beginning to end. I was greated and given a warm welcome by a friendly yet distinguished host. He took me to my table located in its elegant yet relaxing main dining room. My host was very kind and graceful, remembering me from the last time I dined there and thanking me for having returned. The food was exquisite. I had BBQ Shrimp together with French bread and butter as appetizer. Followed by a house salad an then the main entrée of Filet Gorgonzola cooked medium rare. To end I had coffee and a Dark chocolate Tart for dessert. The wonderful cuisine, amazing service, and attractive atmosphere once again created a memorable experience. One that I will always remember and cherish dearly.
Alexanders is a quiet place in the heart of Roanoke to have a phenomenal experience. Ambiance is peaceful without having other diners stacked nearby. Timing of staff visits was spot on. The food was flavorful and well presented. Outstanding choice for romantic dinner or a business dinner. Worthy of a Michelin Star.
We always have a positive experience at Alexander's! Service is always impeccable. We value that the menu does not change very often and we can always get our favorites.

In the Roanoke area we have a lot of allergy issues that restaurants must deal with. The latest [Alpha-gal which I have] is one of the fastest growing in the mid-Atlantic states. Alexanders not only has terrific food, they are genuinely committed to caring for any reasonable requests and accommodations for allergies. Great food, great service and consideration for unique needs of diners put them at the top of my dining list.
Wonderful experience as always. Each dish had unique flavors and was creatively prepared. All employees were professional, kind and attentive. All restaurants should aspire to what Alexander's delivers consistently. And there is only one Alexander's. We will be back.
Quite possibly the best meal in town! Service was excellent from the time we set foot into the restaurant to the time we left. The crab cake appetizer, filet, and bread pudding were exquisite.

Alexander's is always a solid choice for dinner, and our recent romantic date night was no exception. The food and wine list were fantastic, offering great variety and quality. Having visited five times now, it's clear why we keep coming back. The restaurant has minimal staff turnover, which speaks volumes about its quality, and our server had been there for 26 years! We dined during restaurant week but chose to stick to the regular menu, and the prices were in line with the restaurant's caliber. We’ll definitely return for another memorable dining experience.

Alexander’s is one of the classiest restaurants in Roanoke. Everything from start to finish is always amazing! The service is always on point and the food is some of the best in the area! We highly suggest the deconstructed California roll for an appetizer. The pecan crusted chicken and lamb steak are also phenomenal! We’ve never had anything here that wasn’t delicious! The cocktails are also always good! 🍸
