They had three non dairy (vegan) flavours. The gf cone is also vegan which totally delighted me. All other cones have heavy whipping cream so are not vegan. The staff were really friendly. Great spot overlooking the water.
Love the ice cream here!! Waffle cones are made fresh on-site and they taste delicious and the aroma is irresistible. Friendly service too.
Either ice cream at Blue Cow or Krispy Kreme for a treat in Roanoke, you can't go wrong with either.
Decided after dinner tonight that I wanted ice cream. This was the closest open ice cream place at 7:30ish. It was close so I hopped in my rental and made the 2 minute drive over. When I arrived the parking lot was pretty empty. That wasn't a surprise since it was a rainy Thursday night in late January. By the time I left at 8:00 it was completly full and people were parking across the street.
The ice cream was delicious. I had a salted caramel brickle and it was great. I wish I had found this place at the beginning of my week here instead of my last night on this trip.

Finally visited this eternally-popular spot after a mural was revealed of my face below the bridge beside the parlor. I can't believe I waited so long to visit this parlor. The reviews aren't lying. The hype isn't exaggerated. The parking lot is always stuffed for good reason.
I now have random cravings for chocolate chip cookie dough milkshakes on my sad days and birthday cake ice creams on my happy days. Bless this lovely place🤤
Parking: Unless it's a slow day, the chances of finding parking are limited because of how popular this place is. Be prepared to park on the road or in surrounding lots and take a little walk. The same goes for seating.

While riding e-bikes on the Roanoke River Trail on an anniversary trip, we came upon a switchback trail up to the street level which ended at an ice cream shop. That sounded really good, so on our way back, we made a point to stop and walk our bikes up to check it out. Honestly, this was the best ice cream we have ever had! Great flavors, generous servings, and a kind server made Blue Cow a nice surprise and welcome stop.
