The cashier at the window was friendly, but my order was completely wrong. I ordered a BBQ sandwich with slaw and hushpuppies, but instead received a BBQ sandwich with no slaw, cold fries, and a bag of Doritos with chili — which I did not order and did not eat. This level of inaccuracy is unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I’ll be choosing McDonald’s next door instead.

I came through the drive thru, wasn't busy, took them a while to answer. Pulled up to get my pay and get my food everyone was laughing playing having a grand time almost handed me my food for free.. finally took my payment, didnt ask if I needed any sauces nothing. Had to pull back up and get my drinks. Fast forward get home my burger was made wrong and both of my walking tacos had lettuce. In my other tray wasa BURNT corn dog.Reciept reflects the correct ordering but the food did NOT correspond. Do better!

The Cookout in Franklin Road we ate there a week ago.We were disappointed and probably want eat there again unless it’s approved.This is a drive tru only. You cannot eat inside only in your car. There are no trash cans to put your trash. I asked the manager about why there was no trash cans and he told me there were none and we would have to use the trash cans at McDonald’s which is next door. This is not going to work McDonald’s is not going to want people bringing in true trash from cookout. I saw many people coming to the window where you cannot see inside and ask where the trash cans were and why they cannot eat inside. There are also no rest rooms. The food was cold and the fries were so salty you could not eat them. This restaurant is terrible.

Worst drive thru layout and exit evvvvver! Placing a drive thru window on the passenger side for the vehicle 🤷🏼♀️. Don’t have a passenger? No problem , throw it in park, unbuckle and reach waaaaaaay over as the window worker stands on a stool to reach you half way …. Great idea! 🤣 Don't use that first drive thru option or you are going to be grabbing all of your food and drinks from your passenger side window or have a passenger buddy in place 😬

Went through passenger side drive-thru. The two people at the window could not understand that our order was wrong on three separate times. They kept taking our order back through the window only to give it to us again incorrect. Three times. Manager finally came to window only to explain to her for the fourth time how our order was wrong. It was a horrible experience.

decided to give this location a try. Order a plate of two quesadillas, fries and onion rings. Simple, single order. They managed to stiff me the fires all together, had 3 onion rings in total, and the quesadillas had less than 1 tablespoon of meat on each. Needless to say, my first time trying here, I will absolutely not be back. $10 to be stiffed fries, which i didn't go back for as it likely would have been 10 fries in total no worth driving back for, and the food was in no way shape or form worth $10. What a bummer. Good luck.

I have to say it even though I love cookout and it’s probably my favorite fast food I can get in the area but this cookouts food is not the same as other ones I have been too it’s pretty close but it’s missing something it even seems to me that the burger patties are smaller or actually thinner and the ingredients where not as greasy or sloppy and loaded down, I even asked for double sides of cajun fries to go with my cheddar style big double burger tray and got what was in my opinion one side and also compared to the many many other times I have been to other cookouts. I also got the wrong toppings on my burger it was not cheddar style it was still pretty good and alright but not as good as usual overall and to a level that makes me not be so excited to go back again, but I will in hopes of an improvement or the magic ingredient they are missing right now to get mixed in. I also don’t know if maybe I hit them on a bad day or time but it was noticeably different because normally this is the best thing you can get and tons of it for around $10 and then less money if you want just something like a “walk-in taco” or a hotdog or quesadillas to fill you up. My favorite time to go is late at night when you are still up and nothing else is open too, but it’s got all sorts of comfort/country style food and it’s all normally really good and real ingredients cooked on a real grill and is a step up from your ordinary steamed fast food at other places. Also this location only has walk up or drive thru but two lanes of drive thru and it’s pretty quick to get thru, I don’t know what they are going to do when people really figure out that it’s here in this location because every other cookout every other time I have been to one of them usually has a line of cars stretching out the parking lot and there is no room for that here. Overall I think it’s still worth it and I would take a chance and go there again and that it will definitely be the way cookout has been at every other restaurant I have been to and the food will get it’s awesomeness, flavor and special style back the next time, I will be sure to write another review if it is subpar again but this experience was depressing and felt like loss, but if you have that experience or are worried there is another one in Roanoke that I can vouch for it’s place as best fast food to get at 2:00am or 2:00pm or any other time too

Insufficient parking. We had to do drive through which was not the goal. Speaker on the drive through panel is already cutting out and difficult to understand. Multiple things were wrong on our order. The food was mediocre at best. Needs improvement.
Angela took my order in the drive-through, and it was hands down some of the best service I’ve ever had. I arrived before they officially opened, and she still kindly took my order. She was incredibly professional, polite, and welcoming the entire time. Even with a very large order for a full car, everything was accurate and prepared quickly. Truly a 10/10 experience. Thank you, Angela!

Don't go to the left side lane unless you have a passenger, window is on passenger side which makes no sense, you have to get out your car to your pay, then get drinks, then food, which was not convenient with kids in car freaking out thinking they getting left in car. Then it was raining so got wet anyway.Why they did drive thru that way! Bad set up. Kids food was right , mine no mayo , mayo just oozing out. First time at new location not so impressed.

I don’t like writing bad reviews but I went into it very excited for a cookout near tanglewood. I was disappointed. They got my order completely wrong and I realized later that they also put 20 more dollars on my card in a separate transaction. I think I’ll have to drive all the way to the Salem location from now on which is disappointing. Make sure you check your food and card while you’re there. I wish I had.
