Smoothies are filled with extra sugars and syrups (ie strawberry syrup blend used in strawberry smoothies) which would be fine if they were transparent about ingredients. When the menu lists-“just strawberries and banana” and there are a myriad of other processed ingredients in the smoothie-that is frustrating. As is the lack of size options. I was told I could split a regular smoothie into two cups for my 4 and 6 year old, since there is only one large size option, (which still isn’t a great option because they want different flavors) but what was not mentioned at all was there’s a .50c up-charge to do so on top of the $8 charge for the “strawberry” smoothie itself. Not customer friendly, not transparent with pricing or ingredients, and really just not friendly on top of all that. Will be sticking to other options in the future. In ref to the response, what was used in my smoothie was prepackaged and out of a carton-not anything made in house. Are you saying the smoothies do in fact only contain fruit and there are not any additional sugars or other additives?

I would give 0 stars if I could. I used to love this place under original ownership. As a friend remarked, "They are not nice but used to be." I got take out several times during the pandemic. Oftentimes my food was not prepared as specified ( i.e., sour cream put all over the meal when "on the side" was selected), and several times I had to throw away chicken that was undercooked or hard and inedible. The food is very expensive as well. So, I stopped going except for an occasional smoothie. Occasional, because now you can only order one large size for $8 to $9. So, two months ago I tried to buy 2 smoothies using a $10 gift card. I was told because of new ownership the system change wouldn't allow me to use it and I should email the owner at the address they provided. After two emails went unanswered I went by the store. A girl took my contact info for the owner. No response. I called and left a message at the store. No response. Finally, I went by the store again. The same girl offered again to take my contact info for the owner. I said no because I had been ignored for 2 months and wanted to speak to a manager. She refused and walked away, turning on the blender. That was the icing on the cake. They take people's money then refuse to provide a service or a refund. Others have had the same experience, I am told.

Since work is close to Elderberry’s it’s convenient to order for lunch, I’ve ordered the same Chicken bacon ranch wrap about 3 times now, each time there is only one piece of bacon. For a 10$ wrap you would think there would be at least two pieces. I even ordered extra bacon once and paid extra for it and didn’t receive the extra. The chicken is processed and pre cooked, it is not fresh. For a restaurant who preaches to be a “healthier” option, I just can’t agree. Processed ingredients and sugar filled smoothies are anything but healthy. Very unimpressed. Elderberry’s has the potential to be an excellent restaurant with clean wholesome products but they just aren’t.

I have been a faithful customer for many many years. I ordered takeout today. A Madison Wrap and Hoo Berry smoothie. My bill was roughly $17.00. The wrap was smaller than it use to be. I would rather pay the price and have the normal size wrap then pay for something that is smaller. Also the tortilla that was used this time wasnt as good. Tasted much different than they always have like it was gluten free or something. Im a huge supporter of small businesses. This makes me sad that it just didn't cut it this time.

Second time I’ve been here. This time I was hoping it’d be better than the first. It wasn’t. The first time I came, I got a Pineapple smoothie. You couldn’t taste anything but the yogurt, which was plain. This time, I decided On the “Sunshine” smoothie. Orange, pineapple, etc. nope. My husband wouldn’t even drink it. There was no taste, just blended Ice. Save your money. $17 for two smoothies that tasted like nothing but ice. What a waste and disappointment.

I have been a very regular customer for the last few years (5days/ week at one time) ordering the same exact smoothie every time.New owners came in about 2months ago and now the smoothie doesn’t taste the same anymore. Today is my 5th smoothie since the new owners and none have tasted the same as before and even worse, it’s tasted different every time.Bummer.

Elderberry's is my go to spot for lunch when I'm in Roanoke. The wraps and smoothies are made with high quality ingrediants and taste great. If you prefer to eliminate or add something, no problem, they will make it special for you. Staff is friendly and service is quick?Parking: I have always been able to find a parking spot close to the restaurant

Clean and fresh are the two words I would use to describe Elderberry’s on Electric Rd. Their friendly staff are always ready to take my order and fulfill it in a timely manner. They are considerate when answering my questions, taking the time to listen. Just yesterday I learned that all my time going there their turkey avocado wrap is served on a flour tortilla not a flatbread as I had been accustomed to for years. The associate did well explaining that was due to a management issue as the flatbreads cost more. I highly recommend trying this place if you are looking for a healthy meal and to eat locally.

I have visited this restaurant since it opened as a treat for myself. I loved supporting local business as well as the fact they invested some training in young people who were good workers. I have not been able to get there since they changed locations. but not since it changed locations.I was excited to go. But sadly, it will probably be my last visit. This is absolutely NOT the same elderberry’s.The prices are incredibly deceptive, listing allOf your bread options, just as the old one did with no notation that there were extra charges. I bought the exact same meal I always have bought that was close to $13, which is a bit of an expense for me. I went onutikize my $40 gift card and when asking how to utilize it, I was rudely informed of it doesn’t slide we do t take it??? So I slide it after picking up the machine to figure out where to slide it and it was declined. I told her it has $40 on it. She lady was rude and I interested and said essentially too bad. I was not given the option to slide it again. The gal taking my order seemed to be about 12 years old understandable had to ask for help with every little bit of the order. Only the full price of the items were noted on the screen. When I asked for a receipt, I was told I would get it later. My meal jumped to almost $19!!! I was charged extra for a wheat tortulla. My bill was close to $18 and I asked why it was so much more expensive. The rude lady looked at me and rudely replied that they were new owners but had not changed the prices. And she blamed the other elderberry’s for the gift card not working. and things have not been raised and the card should work and if not it’s not her concern. I have edited this to note that the smoothie was watered down sifnicith and the wrap was 1/2 of what it used to be. So please don’t expect these people that I guess bough the name of Elserberrys to be what you are used to. It’s no longer a place I will splurge. It’s a place I will avoid. This place may carry the same name, but certainly not the same friendly local business I wanted to support and enjoyed as a treat.

I’d give them a 5 star but they don’t have elderberry anymore. It’s even in the name! Odd.
